Under this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œShaping Resilient Future: Timeless Design with Coated Steelโ€, the project explores a tranquil retreat that embraces the challenges of a steep site and the presence of the Lighthouse, transforming natural constraints into an immersive sanctuary for reconnection, reflection, and rest. Coated steel forms the columns, beams and anchorage to the cliffside, with outer cladding completing the envelope. Its strength and durability enable a resilient response to the site, while creating a timeless architectural expression shaped by its natural surroundings.

Coated steel forms part of the floating skin, offering durability and corrosion resistance suited to its riverside setting, while reflecting changing light. Its modular construction allows components to be disassembled and reused, creating a resilient home that can evolve with changing ways of living.
