ABS issues in the Ford Fiesta are actually a well-known problem in the industry. In most cases, it’s not caused by a single faulty part, but rather a combination of issues involving several key components.

1. ABS Module (ABS Pump / Control Module) Failure
Internal components aging or solder joints cracking
Damage caused by prolonged exposure to engine bay heat
Communication errors (common OBD fault codes: U-code / C-code)

2. Wheel Speed Sensor Issues
Faulty sensor
Wiring damage or poor connection
Rusted or damaged tone ring

3. Wiring & Connector Problems
Water intrusion (especially after rain or car wash)
Brittle or aging wires
Poor grounding

4. Wheel Bearing / Tone Ring Damage
The wheel bearing contains a magnetic encoder ring

The 2012 Chevrolet Orlando LT is considered quite a rare car locally. I just checked the used car market on Mudah.my, and there are only three units currently listed for sale.

This is a 5th-generation VW Jetta, approximately 18 years old. The owner reported that sometimes after shifting into gear, the car still behaves as if it's in neutral, and at other times it fails to upshift automatically.
This vehicle is equipped with an early-generation DSG (Direct-Shift Gearbox). After our diagnosis, we confirmed that the issue lies with a faulty mechatronic unit.
Due to the age of the car, replacement parts are difficult to source, so we decided to refurbish and repair the unit instead.

For a Kia Picanto, when the Check Engine warning light comes on and the OBD scanner shows two fault codes, most workshops will usually recommend replacing the speed sensor. However, in many cases, replacing the sensor does not actually solve the problem. This is because the root cause is often the ECU.
When the ECU develops a fault, it can indirectly cause a loss of communication between the ECU and other components, which then triggers the warning lights.
Therefore, during the repair process, besides having the right tools and equipment, experience in diagnosing the issue is also extremely important.

The fifth-generation Honda CR-V — this unit was just purchased by our customer as a used car. After buying it, the owner noticed that the engine produced slight blue smoke while running, and the engine oil level was gradually dropping.

This is usually a sign of engine oil burning. After our inspection, we found that the turbocharger had an oil leakage issue.

Unfortunately, the owner had just bought the car and now needs to spend a few thousand more to fix the problem.

Generally, we always recommend that before purchasing a used car, you discuss with the dealer and send the car to a trusted workshop for a basic inspection. Let an experienced mechanic check the vehicle, and it’s also advisable to connect an OBD scanner to check for any fault codes. Then estimate the potential repair costs before deciding whether the car is worth buying.
