FutureData announces first off-taker at 500MW Malaysian data center park in Sarawak

FutureData, a collaboration between Sarawak’s TSG Group and Singapore’s Cyclect, is moving forward with its vision for a world-class data center park in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. With Global Telecommunications Group coming on board as the first major off-taker, the project promises a robust IT capacity of 17MW and an investment value of $130 million.

Targeted to go live by 2026, with construction beginning Q2 next year
Purpose-built for advanced AI and digital services
A foundational step in Sarawak’s Digital Economy Blueprint 2030

Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) is set to power Sarawak’s first tier-four, energy-efficient data center hub – the Sarawak Data Centre Park (SDCP) – with a commitment to sustainable and reliable energy solutions.

Through a collaboration with Netrunner Sdn Bhd and AIZO Bhd, SDCP will bring state-of-the-art data storage and processing capabilities to Sarawak, bolstering its position as a digital innovation hub in Malaysia. Targeted for completion by 2030, the SDCP project aims to drive local economic growth, create job opportunities, and foster eco-friendly development.

This development aligns with Sarawak’s digital economy aspirations, as highlighted during the 7th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2024. The SDCP project is another step forward in establishing Sarawak as a digitally advanced region, with sustainable data infrastructure at its core. 🌱💻

Our team is currently undergoing training for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications! 🎓 This marks an important step in enhancing our commitment to both workplace safety and environmental responsibility.

🔹 ISO 45001: Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)
This training is helping us establish a proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring we’re better equipped to prevent work-related injuries and create a safer working environment for everyone.

🔹 ISO 14001: Environmental Management System (EMS)
Through this training, we are learning to strengthen our environmental management practices, aiming to reduce our ecological impact and embrace greener, more sustainable business operations.

We are excited to implement the knowledge gained from these sessions to improve our processes and make a positive impact on both our team and the environment. Stay tuned for more updates as we work towards full certification! 🌍💼
