MEI is affiliated to several international engineering bodies including the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO), Commonwealth Engineers Council (CEC), African Engineers Forum (AEF) and the Federation of African Engineering Organisations (FAEO). MEI also has close links with several Institutions of Engineers in Southern Africa including Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa and has a special relationship with Kuwait Society of Engineers.
