SIPEX customers often ask questions, the answers to which are shrouded in some myths and misconceptions. One of the most common questions is whether houses made of SIP panels «breathe»?

SIP houses are built on the principle of «thermos», which provides high thermal insulation.

Therefore, the answer to the question: SIP houses «do not breathe». This is often presented as a significant disadvantage. However, houses that «breathe», in fact, inhale cold and exhale heat.

Essentially, a wall that breathes is a wall with holes in it. So there’s a choice to be made here. Either a constant supply of air «through the natural gaps in the cladding», or normal ventilation, as in any modern house.
For SIP houses ventilation is the only possible outcome, and the fact that the house «does not breathe» - rather an advantage!

🏠 A new house here and now!
Special offer from SIPEX at the end of the year: a ready-made house set made of SIP panels.

This spacious house with a living area of 59.5 m2 and 3m high ceilings will be perfect for a young family as a permanent residence. Also this project can become your country house for vacation, where you can comfortably spend the weekend and enjoy time with loved ones in nature.

The house project implies 1 bathroom, 1 living room and 2 bedrooms - enough space to live yourself, as well as to accommodate guests.

A pleasant bonus from SIPEX will be free delivery of the house set to the construction site.

The building area is 68 m2. It can be reduced to 60 m2 in order for the project to pass the standard of simplified approval. The house is designed for installation on a concrete foundation, but can be recalculated for a pile foundation.

The set includes:
- Exterior walls with a height of 224 mm
- Internal walls with a height of 124 mm high
- Lumber - dry planed C24
- Roof structure trusses

The panels for this house are made using 2x12mm OSB3 particle boards and with EPS 80 Graphite as insulation material to ensure the best possible heat insulation.

The cost of the house set: 10 000 euros including delivery to the construction site, excluding VAT. The house set is ready and is in our warehouse. Assemble and live 🙂 (because houses from SIP panels are built very quickly).

In addition to the basic set you may need professional installation, which is estimated separately.

🔥 PIR insulation for SIP panels, what are its advantages:

- The main distinguishing feature of PIR is its very low coefficient of thermal conductivity. Thanks to this PIR is an ideal insulator, and it is required in much smaller volumes in the production of SIP-panels, so they can be made thinner without loss of quality of basic properties.
