SolidWorks Simulation enables users to simulate this by subjecting the design to different loads and analyzing how the material responds. It helps in determining if and when the material will undergo plastic deformation, which is crucial for ensuring the design's structural integrity.

Tensile strength, on the other hand, measures the maximum stress a material can handle before breaking under tension. SolidWorks Simulation facilitates the simulation of tension tests on the design, providing insights into where and how the structure might fail under extreme loads.

In collaboration with the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, we embarked on a groundbreaking project — a manhole cover with a jaw-dropping 1200mm x 1200mm clear opening, featuring a unique square design with two-door openings.

🔍 **Simulation-Driven Design:**
Our journey began with SolidWorks simulation, ensuring the structural integrity of the design. We referred to test data of FCD 600 ductile cast iron collected from the Industrial Development Board casting facility and material lab.

🛢️ **Material Mastery:**
Crafted from FCD 600 ductile cast iron, a material known for its strength, durability, and resilience. Our choice was informed by thorough testing at the Industrial Development Board and material lab.

📏 **Record-Breaking Dimensions:**
With a clear opening of 1200mm x 1200mm, this manhole cover proudly stands as the largest ever casted and tested in Sri Lanka.

📈 **Tested to Perfection:**
The manhole cover underwent rigorous physical testing at the University of Moratuwa, enduring a test load of up to 40 tons — equivalent to BS EN 124 standards. A true testament to its strength and reliability.
