ජාතක පොත් වහන්සේගේ සඳහන් වන කුක්කුර ජාතකය පිළිබඳව අප බොහෝදෙනා අසා තිබෙනවා. එයට අනුව අපගේ මහා බෝසතාණන් වහන්සේ තමන්ගේ වර්ගයා රැකගැනීම පිණිස නොයෙක් ආත්මවල සිය ජීවිතය කැප කොට තියෙනවා. එකළ, පුරණ ලද පාරමී බලයෙන් යුතු අප මහා බෝසතාණන් වහන්සේ පවා එක්තරා අවස්ථාවක සුනඛ යෝනියෝව ඉපදෙනවා. එදා එම සුනඛයා විසින් තමන්ගේ ඥාති වර්ගයාට වෙන්ට තිබුනු මහා විපතකින් ඔවුන්ව බේරා ගනු ලබනවා. ( කුක්කුර කියන්නේ සුනඛයාට කියන පාලි වචනය )

එහිදී බෝධිසත්ත්වයන් වහන්සේ සුනඛයෙකු වී ඉපදී පෙන්වූ උතුම් ගුණාංග, ආලෝකාගෙන් දකිනා විට මට නිතැතින්ම ඇයව මට සිහිපත් වුණා. අද අපගේ සටහනේ කථා නායකයා වන සුදු සහ දුඹුරු පැහැති සුනඛයාද කුඩා කල සිට 2022 වසරේ දෙසැම්බරය දක්වා බටහිර බෝංගාලයේ කොල්කතා පුරවරයේ වීථී ඔස්සේ ඇවිද යද්දී මහත් දුෂ්කරතා වලට මුහුණ දුන් සතෙක්.

එසේ කාලය ගතවෙද්දී ඉන්දියාව පුරා පාද චාරිකාවේ යෙදුණු වියට්නාම සම්භවයක් සහිත ඇමෙරිකානු හික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා පිරිසකට මේ සුනඛයාව මුණගැසෙනවා. කුමක් හෝ හේතුවක් මත පූජ්‍යපාද පඤ්ඤාකර හිමියන් ප්‍රමුඛ අදාල හික්ෂූන් වහන්සේ පිරිස පසුපස ඇවිද යන්නට ඇයට වාසනාව උදාවෙනවා. එතැන් සිට පාද චාරිකාව අවසන් වනතුරු කුමන බාධක කමිකටොළුවලට මුහුණ දීමට සිදුවුවත් මේ සුනඛයා එම හික්ෂූන් වහන්සේ පිරිස සමඟ පාද චාරිකාවේ යෙදෙනවා.

විටෙක අසනීපවන ඇය තවත් විටෙක රිය අනතුරකට පවා මුහුණ පානවා. එහෙත් ඇය කිසිදු ලෙසකින් සිය චාරිකාව අත්හරින්නේ නැහැ. මේ තත්ත්වය තුළ එම වියට්නාම - ඇමෙරිකානු හික්ෂූන් වහන්සේ පිරිස මේ සුනඛයා හදා වඩාගැනීමට තීරණය කරනවා. ඇයට ලැබෙන නම ආලෝකා. ආලෝකා යනු ආලෝකය, දීප්තිය, දර්ශනය සහ තේජස වැනි අර්ථ සහිත සංස්කෘත වචනයක්. ඉන් අනතුරුව ආලෝකා මේ හික්ෂූන් වහන්සේ පිරිස සමඟ ඇමෙරිකාව බලා පිටත්ව යනවා.

ආලෝකා, ලොව පුරා වඩාත් ප්‍රසිද්ධියට සහ ජනාදරයට පත්වනුයේ පසුගිය වසරේ ආරම්භවූ 'වෝක් ෆෝ පීස්' ඇමෙරිකානු සාම පාගමනත් සමඟයි. පූජ්‍යපාද පඤ්ඤාකර හිමියන් ඇතුළු බෞද්ධ හික්ෂූන් වහන්සේ පිරිසක් පසුගිය වසරේ ඔක්තෝබර් මස 28 වැනිදා සිට ඉකුත් පෙබරවාරි 10 වැනිදා දක්වා පුරා දින 108 ක් ඇමෙරිකාව පුරා කිලෝමීටර් 3,700 ක දුරක් ඇවිද ගිය අතර ගිය අතර ආලෝකද මේ පාද වාරිකාවට එක්වුනා.

ලබන සතියේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේදී ආරම්භ වන 'වෝර්ක් ෆෝ පීස්' පාද වාරිකාව සඳහාද පූජ්‍යපාද පඤ්ඤාකර හිමියන් ප්‍රමුඛ හික්ෂූන් වහන්සේ කණ්ඩායම සමඟ ආලෝකාද එක්වෙනවා. ඒ අනුව ආලෝකා අද හෙටම ඇමෙරිකාවේ සිට ගුවන් මගින් දිවයිනට පැමිණෙනු ඇති.

පූජ්‍ය පඤ්ඤාකර ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේ ප්‍රමුඛ මහා සංඝරත්නය විසින් මෙහෙයවනු ලබන මෙම සාම පා ගමන සඳහා වැඩම කරන ගුවන් යානය තුළ මහා සංඝරත්නය අසලම ආලෝකා වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂ ආසනයක් වෙන් කර තිබීම සුවිශේෂී දසුනක්. ඇය හුදෙක් සතෙකු නොව සාමයේ දූතයෙකු ලෙස එම ගෞරවයට පාත්‍ර වී අවසානයි.

අප අවට සිටින හැම සතෙකුටම ආදරය රැකවරණය සහ සැලකිල්ල ලැබිය යුතු බව ආලෝකා අපට නිහඬව කියා දෙනවා. මිනිස් හදවතට සමීපතම සත්ත්වයා බල්ලා වුවත් ආලෝකා ඒ සීමාවන් ද ඉක්මවා ගොස් තිබෙනවා. ආලෝකා යන නමේ අර්ථය සේම අන්ධකාරයෙන් පිරි මේ ලෝකයට ඇය සැබෑ ආලෝකයක් ගෙන එනු ඇතැයි මා අපේක්ෂා කරනවා. සාමයේ සුවඳ රැගෙන පුංචි පා සටහන් තබමින් ආලෝකා පැමිණෙන විට මුලු මහත් රටම ඇය වෙනුවෙන් ආදරණීය ආශිර්වාදය පිරිණැමිය යුත්තේ ඒ නිසාමයි කියා මා විශ්වාස කරනවා.!
