A customer once placed a laser-cut part on the table and asked us:

“Which sanding belt should I use for this?”

The honest answer was: it depends.

A 40-grit belt can quickly remove heavy laser slag, but it may be too aggressive for precision sheet metal. A 180-grit belt creates a finer finish, but it will struggle with large burrs.

Our usual starting points are:

🔹 Heavy burrs or laser slag: 40 → 80 grit🔹 Standard laser-cut parts: 80 → 120 grit🔹 Precision sheet metal: 120 → 180 grit🔹 Brushed finishes: 180 → 300 → 600 grit

There is no single sanding belt for every part. Material, thickness, burr size and the required finish all matter—which is why we prefer testing real customer samples before recommending a setup.

1000 BRB delivering to Qingdao Port!

It has 1000mm max working area, 2 sand belts and a rotary roller to do the edge - rounding. Perfectly for stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel.

Client is using manual grinding now, slow efficiency, unsafe working environment. So decided to replace to an automatic deburring machine.

Not all slag is caused by the same problem.

When heavy slag appears on laser-cut parts, manufacturers often suspect the machine first. In reality, the cause may be:

▪ Incorrect cutting speed
▪ Low assist gas pressure
▪ Worn nozzles
▪ Improper focus position
▪ Material surface contamination

Understanding the cause is often more important than simply removing the slag afterward.

Cleaner cuts usually start with process optimization.

40 grit or 80 grit?

The answer depends on the result you're looking for.

In this stainless steel finishing test:

✔ 40 grit provides stronger material removal and is ideal for heavier burrs and slag.

✔ 80 grit delivers a smoother surface and a more refined appearance.

Different applications require different finishing strategies. That's why understanding abrasive selection is just as important as choosing the right machine.

Which finish would better suit your production requirements?

A small part. A noticeable difference.

What remains after cutting can be just as important as the cutting process itself.

Removing burrs, slag, and sharp edges helps improve edge quality and prepares parts for downstream operations such as coating, welding, and assembly.

Here's a quick look at the finishing process for a small laser-cut component.

Did you know?

Powder coating tends to be thinner on sharp edges than on flat surfaces.

That's one reason why corrosion and coating failures often appear first around corners, cut edges, and weld areas.

Rounded edges generally achieve better coating coverage than sharp edges, reducing the risk of premature coating failure. For many manufacturers, improving coating quality isn't only about the coating process itself—it's also about proper edge preparation before coating.

Small details in finishing can have a significant impact on the final product's performance.

From rough laser-cut edges to clean finished parts.

Manual grinding takes time and consistency is hard to control.

This automatic deburring process helps manufacturers improve edge quality and production efficiency after laser cutting.

Real processing.
Real finishing effect.
Real factory application.

Many factories still rely on manual grinding.

But when production volume increases, consistency becomes the real problem.

This is a real deburring and finishing process for metal parts after laser cutting.

Watch the difference in deburring quality and surface finish after processing.

Less manual work.
More consistent results.
Better production efficiency.
