🌏Dyne Medical Group Shares Clinical Experience with URUS at the Taiwan Urological Association Meeting

Dyne Medical Group recently participated in the annual meeting of the Taiwan Urological Association (TUA) with Lite Med, its local distributor in Taiwan, where the company introduced URUS 2.0 and shared clinical experience with URUS 1.0.

During the TUA Lunch Symposium, Professor Han-kyu Chae of Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, along with Dr. Yen CH and Dr. Lee HY, shared clinical experience with URUS in urinary stone treatment, including its 6 o’clock working-channel configuration and applications in lower pole stone treatment.

URUS 2.0 builds on this design philosophy with the newly developed Smile Digital Tip.

🔹 The 6 o’clock working channel is retained from URUS 1.0, supporting precise targeting and instrument manipulation during stone treatment.

🔹 The Smile Digital Tip features a curved distal-end design intended to distribute irrigation fluid across a wider area and further develop the flow characteristics of the URUS platform.

🔹 URUS 2.0 is designed to expand the clinical and procedural capabilities established with URUS 1.0.

The company also met with key Endourology KOLs in Taiwan, including Dr. Tai, Dr. Yu-Chao Hsu, Dr. Hsiang-Ying, and Dr. Yen, to discuss URUS 2.0 Demo and Training, as well as potential opportunities for joint research and academic publications.

These discussions mark another step in strengthening Dyne Medical Group’s clinical network in Taiwan and connecting physicians in Korea and Taiwan through future research and educational activities.

🚀 Dyne Medical Group Selected for Korea’s Scale-up TIPS R&D Program

Dyne Medical Group has been selected for Korea’s Scale-up TIPS R&D Program for the development of an AI-based smart resectoscope platform for HoLEP surgery.

Through URUS, Dyne Medical Group has built expertise in endoscopic technologies and real-world surgical workflows in the treatment of urinary stones. This new R&D project will extend those capabilities into the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

The project will focus on developing a digital resectoscope platform incorporating image-processing technologies, along with AI-based surgical support technologies designed to assist physicians with position and orientation recognition during surgery.

The R&D project will run from July 2026 through June 2029.

This selection is expected to serve as a meaningful milestone as Dyne Medical Group expands from urinary stone treatment into BPH and continues to broaden its clinical presence across the field of urology.

We will continue to build on our expertise in endoscopy and surgical workflows to develop innovative solutions for new treatment areas and global markets.

🔍 URUS Recognized for Its Performance in Stone Treatment

Dr. Dong-wook Kim, Director of Cheonan Good Morning Urology Clinic, recently shared his clinical experience with URUS, Dyne Medical Group’s single-use flexible ureteroscope.

After comparing and using endoscopic devices from multiple manufacturers, Dr. Kim highlighted the performance and usability of URUS in endoscopic stone treatment.

URUS features a 6 o’clock working channel designed to position the laser fiber at the lower center of the endoscopic view. This configuration helps surgeons keep the stone centered on the screen, maintain a balanced field of view, and precisely target stones located in the lower pole calyx. 🎯

Dr. Kim also expressed his appreciation for the development of a Korean-made medical device that addresses the limitations and inconveniences of existing products, while sharing his expectations for continued innovation and product upgrades.

DYNE Medical Group participated in KSER 2026, held from July 9 to 11 at BEXCO in Busan, where it unveiled its next-generation single-use flexible ureteroscope, URUS 2.0, for the first time. ✨

URUS 2.0 was developed with a focus on maintaining balanced fluid flow between irrigation and suction, an increasingly important consideration in retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS).

🔹 The newly applied Smile Digital Tip is designed to distribute irrigation fluid across a wider area rather than concentrating it at a single point. By dispersing the force of the irrigation flow, the design may help reduce retropulsion during laser lithotripsy.

🔹 The device features an enlarged 4.0 Fr working channel, upgraded from 3.6 Fr, to help secure sufficient irrigation flow even when instruments such as a laser fiber are inserted. This design is intended to support balanced irrigation and suction flow when used in FANS-assisted procedures.

🔹 Imaging performance has also been improved. Camera resolution has been upgraded from 320 × 320 to 720 × 720, and exposure control has been applied to provide a more stable visual environment, particularly in bright areas.

🔹 URUS 2.0 also retains the 6 o’clock working channel, a key feature of URUS 1.0. This configuration helps keep the stone centered in the image while providing a balanced left-right view and supporting more precise targeting of lower-pole stones.

During the event, Professor Haedo Jeong of Inje University Ilsan Paik Hospital performed live surgery using URUS 1.0. In simultaneous procedures involving patients with a similar stone burden, the procedure performed with the 6 o’clock working channel was completed first.

This prompted discussion among the panelists about whether the 6 o’clock configuration and its support for precise targeting could potentially contribute to procedural efficiency. 🎥

More detailed information on the key features of URUS 2.0 will be shared in a future post. The results of the flow study conducted jointly by DYNE Medical Group’s clinical team and researchers at Seoul National University Hospital will also be introduced in upcoming content. 🔬

Dyne Medical Group recently hosted the “Dyne UZB RIRS Workshop” in Uzbekistan, bringing together leading Korean experts and local medical professionals for a hands-on academic program.
From in-depth lectures to live surgeries in real clinical settings, the workshop showcased the power of our URUS ureteroscope with a 6 o’clock working channel.

📍 Across Tashkent and Gulistan, participants experienced:
