What is ASME BPE?
ASME BPE(미국기계학회 생물공정 장비 규격, Bioprocessing Equipment)는 1997년에 제정된 국제 표준으로, 바이오제약 및 생명과학 산업에서 사용되는 위생적인 장비와 배관 시스템의 설계, 제작, 검사 기준을 제공합니다.
이 규격은 청정 환경에서 제품 오염을 방지하기 위해 316L 스테인리스강 사용, 표면 거칠기(Ra 값), 용접 방식, 내부 표면 처리 등 엄격한 기술 사양을 규정합니다. 특히 내부 표면은 세척과 멸균이 용이하도록 매끄럽게 가공되어야 합니다.
현재 전 세계 약 30여 개 업체가 ASME BPE 인증을 보유하고 있으며, 이 인증은 제품의 신뢰성과 안전성을 보장합니다. WSG는 2016년 Certificate No. BPE-109를 시작으로 ASME BPE 인증을 획득하여, 현재까지 관련 제품을 지속적으로 공급하고 있습니다.
ASME BPE는 바이오제약 산업을 비롯한 다양한 청정 환경 분야에서 글로벌 위생 표준으로 자리매김하고 있으며, 최신 기술과 산업 변화에 맞춰 지속적으로 업데이트되고 있습니다.

ASME BPE (Bioprocessing Equipment), established in 1997, is an international standard that provides design, fabrication, and inspection criteria for hygienic equipment and piping systems used in the biopharmaceutical and life sciences industries.
This standard enforces strict technical specifications to prevent product contamination in clean environments, including the use of 316L stainless steel, surface roughness (Ra values), welding methods, and internal surface treatments. In particular, internal surfaces must be smoothly finished to facilitate cleaning and sterilization.
Currently, approximately 30 companies worldwide hold ASME BPE certification, which guarantees product reliability and safety. WSG obtained ASME BPE certification in 2016 (Certificate No. BPE-109) and has been supplying ASME BPE-compliant products ever since.
ASME BPE has become the global hygiene standard across various clean environments such as the biopharmaceutical industry and is continuously updated to reflect the latest technological and industry advancements.
