Understanding Cold Vs Dry Hulling Of Coffee beans and how if affects the taste .
Hulling is the process of removing the outer layers of dried coffee after it has been processed ,before the green coffee beans are sorted, graded and exported.
Ever Wondered why some coffee brands taste better than others? The tantalizing aroma from some brands will lure you from kilometers away yet same type of coffee beans are used.
All this lies in Cold hulling of the beans.
In Dry hulling ( Natural coffee beans), hulling removes the entire dried husk ( outer skin, pulp and parchment) from the dried coffee cherry.
while
In wet processed (washed) coffee, Hulling removes only the parchment layer ( pergamino) that remains after the coffee beans are fermented, washed and dried.
If your goal is premium -quality coffee with authentic flavor, then cold hulling is the best choice as it keeps the taste closer to what nature intended.
At TANIS Seed Processing Tech., in the context of wet processed coffee lines for speciality-grade beans, our dehuller/ hulling machines can be configured to cold hulling. Or if you require explicit temperatures that needs minimal flavour alteration.
our Machines support both dry and moisture controlled operations depending on the customers requirements.
