π 12-month warranty β but which unit is actually covered?
A warranty is much easier to use when the item can be traced back to the original purchase records.
Six months after delivery, a faulty unit should not trigger questions like:
β Which invoice covered it?
β What model was supplied?
β What is the serial number?
β When was it delivered?
β What warranty terms applied?
β Who supplied it?
Before filing a purchase, keep the important details together:
β
Supplier name
β
Invoice number
β
LPO reference
β
Product/model
β
Serial or batch number
β
Delivery date
β
Warranty terms
β
Warranty document
β
Responsible department/user
β
Supplier contact
βIT HAS A WARRANTYβ IS NOT ENOUGH IF YOU CANβT TRACE THE PURCHASE.
A better process is:
PURCHASE β RECEIVE β RECORD β USE β TRACE
And remember:
WARRANTY ON PAPER is good.
WARRANTY + TRACEABLE RECORD is much easier to act on.
DONβT WAIT FOR A PRODUCT TO FAIL BEFORE LOOKING FOR THE WARRANTY DOCUMENTS.
