段差も、境界も、消えていく家。

「代表するための家じゃない。ただ、暮らすための家がほしい」

イタリア・パルマ近郊。施主のその願いに、建築家マルコ・コンティーニ（Contini Architettura）が用意した答えは、家の中心に据えた一つの中庭（パティオ）でした。

フルフラットな床を実現する引き戸。見付幅わずか31mmの細いフレーム。電動で開閉する天窓。境界を感じさせないための仕組みが、この住宅のいたるところに施されています。

シューコーという名前は、この家のどこにも大きく掲げられていません。けれど、住む人が段差にも境界にも気づかず過ごせる時間そのものが、その存在の証明です。

A house where thresholds and boundaries disappear.

"Not a representative residence — just a home for living."

Near Parma, Italy. Architect Marco Contini (Contini Architettura) answered the client's wish with a single patio at the heart of the house.

A sliding door that achieves a fully flat floor. A slim frame with a face width of just 31mm. An electrically operated skylight. Details built to make boundaries disappear are woven throughout this home.

The Schüco name appears nowhere prominently in this house. But the fact that its residents can live without noticing thresholds or boundaries — that, in itself, is proof of its presence.

1910年の鉄骨は、壊されなかった。

ベルリンのガスタンクは、かつて16万立方メートルのガスを貯蔵した産業遺産。
文化財指定を受けた円筒の内側に、15階建てのオフィスタワーを浮かせる。
鉄骨との隙間は、わずか1メートル。

高さ70メートルの強風に耐えながら、断熱と採光を両立させる曲面ファサードを可能にしたのがシューコーだった。

They were told not to touch the steel.
Built in 1908, this gasholder once stored 160,000 cubic meters of gas for the city of Berlin. Its riveted steel ring became a listed monument in 1994, then stood empty for decades.
When EUREF Campus took on the site, the answer wasn't to replace the structure. It was to build inside it.
A new 15-story office tower now floats within the original ring, just one meter from the century-old frame it was never allowed to touch. Units up to eight meters tall were craned into that single meter of space.

A curved facade balancing insulation, daylight and wind loads at 70 meters high was the technical answer Schueco delivered.

木造家屋の街に現れた、11の光る箱。
トルコ・エスキシェヒル、かつて木材市場と呼ばれた旧市街。
隈研吾が選んだのは、伝統的な木造家屋を思わせる角材のファサード。

その内側には、厳しいアナトリアの冬に耐える透明なガラス面が必要だった。
断熱基準パッシブハウスと防火性能を両立させたのがシューコー（Schueco）だった。

Eleven boxes of light, stacked above a town once called the wood market.
In Eskişehir, Turkey, the old quarter takes its name from timber traders who worked these streets for generations.
Architect Kengo Kuma wrapped the new museum in solid square timber beams — a quiet echo of the wooden houses that used to stand here.
But behind that timber skin, the walls needed to become glass: enough daylight to fill eleven interlocking galleries, enough insulation to meet passive house standards, enough resistance to survive Anatolia's harsh winters and pass strict fire codes.
Balancing passive house insulation with fire protection, in a single façade, is where Schüco made the architect's vision possible.

パリの百貨店の壁が、建物から浮いている。

1900年創業、ラ・サマリテーヌ。日本人建築家SANAAが選んだのは、断熱層の外側0.5から1.5メートルに、波打つガラスを浮かせるという設計。ガラス1枚を支えるのはたった4点。

その下で高さ3.3メートルの防火扉22枚を軽やかに動かしたのが、シューコー（Schueco）だった。

The wall of a Paris department store floats above its own building.

For over a century, La Samaritaine anchored the Right Bank as the city's grandest department store. When Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA reimagined it as a mixed-use landmark — hotel, offices, homes, and a smaller store — they set an undulating glass façade 0.5 to 1.5 meters in front of the building's insulated core. Each curved pane touches the structure at only four points.

Making that floating skin possible — and fitting its ground floor with twenty-two fire-rated swing doors, each 3.3 meters tall, light enough to open with one hand — was Schüco.

ホテルで窓のハンドルを回したとき、
上部だけがガチャンと手前に倒れてきて

「景色はほしい。枠なんて、見たくない」

森に囲まれた別荘の施主は、そう言った。
窓の外に広がる緑が、この家の主役だから。

でも窓を大きくするほど、冬は寒くなる。
断熱性能を上げようとすると、
今度はフレームが太くなって、景色を遮る。

建築家・津野恵美子さんが直面したのは、
そんなジレンマでした。

たどり着いたのが、シューコーのFWS 50。
見付わずか50mm、それでいて断熱等級H-5相当。
「細くて、暖かい」を両立させるために、
フレームの中にはドイツの断熱技術が詰まっています。

完成した別荘で、施主はサッシについて
何も言及しなかったそうです。
津野さんはそれを、こう受け取りました。

「イメージ通りで、不満がなかったということだと思います」

存在を忘れてしまう窓——
それが、最高の褒め言葉でした。

世界の建築家が2年に一度、ミュンヘンに集まる場所があります。

建築見本市「BAU」——58カ国から2,230社が出展し、18万人以上が来場する、建築界最大のイベントです。
日本最大の東京ビッグサイト全展示ホールを合わせても、その広さの約1.7倍。

単なる展示会ではなく、「これからの建築の方向性」が示される場所です。

シューコーは1,600平方メートルのブースで、建物のライフサイクルという思想を空間ごと体験できる展示を展開。そのブース自体がBrandExアワード2026のBest Brand Architectureカテゴリでブロンズを受賞しました。

次回のBAUは2027年1月。
私たちも一緒にミュンヘンへ向かう準備を進めています。

この家を、壊すことはできなかった。
でも、このままでは住めない。

ドイツ・ケルンの住宅地に建つ、100年の町家。
祖母から受け継いだ家を前に、施主のドミニクは
「改修か、解体か」という問いに向き合いました。

建築家が提案したのは、逆転の発想——
街路側は閉じたまま、庭側をまるごと開く。

床から天井までのガラスが、暗くて狭かった家に
光と奥行きをもたらした。

「ここには、特別な緊張感がある」。
建築家のマックス・ホルストは、この土地を初めて訪れたとき、こんな言葉を口にしました。

ストックホルム群島の断崖に立つ、一本の松の木。施主が求めたのは、その木を家の主役にすること。床から天井まで続くガラス面が、その決断を形にしました。

施主は、世界のステージに立つマジシャン、ヨナス・ルン。「不可能を可能にする」ことを生業とする彼の家を、経験豊富なビルダーたちは何度も「不可能だ」と言い続けました。

北緯59度の過酷な気候と、床から天井までの大開口。その両立を可能にしたのが、シューコーのシステムでした。

"This site has a special tension."
Those were the words of architect Max Holst when he first visited the cliffs of the Stockholm Archipelago — and saw a single pine tree standing at the edge.
The owners had one vision: to make that tree the centrepiece of their home. Floor-to-ceiling glass brought that vision to life.
The client is Jonas Ljung, a magician who performs on stages around the world. A man whose profession is to make the impossible possible — and whose home was repeatedly declared impossible to build.
Achieving passive house-level insulation alongside floor-to-ceiling openness in the climate of 59°N. Schüco's systems were the technical answer.

幅12メートル以上の窓が、壁に光を描き続ける。イタリア・ヴェローナ郊外の丘に建つF+C House。

建築家ミケーレ・ペルリーニが選んだのは
金色の左官壁と、床から天井まで続く大きな窓の組み合わせだった。

南から差し込む光は時間とともに表情を変え
壁の上で、一日中動き続ける。
大きく開きながら、冬は熱を招き入れ夏は押し返す。

この大開口と、高い断熱性能を成立させたのがシューコーだった。

On the gentle hills of Torricelle outside Verona,
architect Michele Perlini paired gold-finished plaster walls
with floor-to-ceiling windows spanning more than twelve metres.
