Why Sashiko? Reclaiming our senses in an overstimulated world. 🧵✨
I’ve been reflecting on why Sashiko feels so necessary right now. Whether it’s fragrance pollution, sensory sensitivity (HSP), or the shift toward minimalism and Eastern philosophy—I realized these aren't separate things. They are all a "rebellion" of our senses.
We live in a world of:
• Overwhelming artificial scents
• Too much information & noise
• The pressure to be "normal"
Our bodies are exhausted. We aren't just "sensitive"—we are struggling to reclaim our boundaries from a society built on insensitivity.
This is where Sashiko becomes a pathway.
For me, Sashiko isn't for "organized" people. I pick up the needle when my mind is scattered and my breath is shallow. As I repeat the rhythmic motions, something shifts:
• The tension of the thread
• The resistance of the fabric
• The calming of the heart
It’s not just "crafting." It’s a process of returning to yourself. Even just gazing at a finished piece helps us remember what it feels like to be in harmony.
At nuu.ne, I believe Sashiko is a deeply meaningful act of protection. It’s about taking back the senses that modern life has swallowed up.
Let’s reclaim our rhythm, one stitch at a time.
Tips for your Reel:
• The Hook: Use the first line ("Why Sashiko?") as on-screen text in the first 3 seconds of your video.
• Keywords: Keep terms like "sensory sensitivity" and "reclaiming senses," as they resonate deeply with the global community interested in slow living.
• Call to Action: You could add a line at the end like: "Do you feel the need to slow down? Let's talk in the comments."
