A New Identity in Terracotta
With New Paley Hall, Temple University in Philadelphia transforms the former Paley Library through adaptive reuse and a volumetric addition into a clearly legible campus building block - now the consolidated home of the College of Public Health.
The project’s tectonic expression is defined by a continuous TONALITY® ventilated rainscreen terracotta skin. Five element types (three in high-gloss white) are complemented by a silk-matt brick red accent. The calibrated interplay of relief, reflection, and chroma articulates the massing, tunes the perceived scale, and delivers a robust yet finely detailed material presence.
