Running casing with Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD)

It involves precise, closed-loop control of annular pressure while lowering casing. This provides superior control over downhole pressure compared to conventional open-hole methods.

The primary benefits of this method include:

Fracture and Loss Prevention: By applying precise surface backpressure, operators keep the Equivalent Circulating Density (ECD) and surge pressures within the narrow pore pressure/fracture gradient window. This significantly reduces fluid or mud losses.

Improved Cement Integrity: Maintaining a constant Equivalent Mud Weight (EMW) during cement circulation prevents formation fluids from contaminating or diluting the slurry, resulting in an optimal cement job and better zonal isolation.

Faster Tripping and Running Speeds: Managing the annular pressure dynamically prevents sudden pressure spikes and drops, allowing crews to trip and run casing faster without the risk of wellbore breathing or damaging the open hole.

Influx Management: If kick fluids enter the well, MPD allows the casing to be rotated and the influx to be circulated out safely while the casing is being run, preventing conventional, time-consuming well control events.

When AI starts to show its magic in different industries, we keep asking ourselves "how can we cope with the AI development and use it for our benefit". Not surpprisingly, AI can not operate a rig to drill a well now. but, we can use a more automatic rig to less the labor intensity and to do the job in a more safe way.
Check out the automatic rig we can assemble and provide to you.

VOC recovery systems capture and condense volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from industrial, storage, and marine loading processes, preventing atmospheric pollution while enabling reuse of the recovered products. Utilizing techniques like refrigeration, adsorption, or absorption, these technologies can eliminate near 100% of VOCs, often repurposing them as fuel or feedstock.

Managed pressure drilling (MPD) allows you to properly navigate the challenging pressure windows between pore and fracture pressure increasingly found in complex wells. Drilling with MPD gives you the ability to rapidly adjust bottom hole pressure to reduce non-productive time risks associated with mitigating kicks, losses and wellbore stability issues.
