The Standard Pe*******on Test (SPT) is one of the most widely used field tests in geotechnical engineering for determining the engineering properties of soil. Conducted as per IS 2131: Method for Standard Pe*******on Test for Soils, this test provides valuable information about soil strength and bearing capacity.
π How the Test is Performed:
A split spoon sampler is driven into the soil using a standard hammer of 63.5 kg falling from a height of 750 mm. The number of blows required to pe*****te the soil for the last 300 mm is recorded as the SPT βNβ Value.
