You will receive all the race information early next week so please watch social media and your emails!

Course maps are out - please swipe left on this post for each one!
For those who will be arriving by boat we ask that you use the public jetty on the opposite side of the beach. The LCSD does not allow us to use the jetty on the race side of the beach - the gate will remain locked.
If you have a boat parked at Repulse Bay we kindly ask you to ensure that it is not within the marked race course until the completion of all swimmers of all races. This is to ensure sight lines, and the safety of all participants. Our safety boat will ask any boats inside the area to please move further out until race finish. Once races are complete you may move into the buoy area closer to the shark net.

It’s the shortest challenge of the day, but in some ways the toughest!
The Cold Dip - the challenge is to survive as long as you can in our ice filled bath. Last year we got it down to a bone chilling 3C and we’re aiming for similar this time. First 10 people to survive over 5 minutes win a Cold Plunge 26 polar bear, and whoever stays in the longest will top our Cold Dip leader board for 2026!

One more well done for everyone in 2025! Save the date for the 14th Cold Half - the prospective date, subject to change, is January 25th 2026! We’ll be back in business in all our glory with all three races back again:
The Cold Half 15km Solo, 2 person Relay, 3 person Relay
The Cold Plunge 1.5km
The Cold Dip ice bath challenge
We hope to see you all again next year, with hopefully many more overseas swimmers coming to our wonderful home of Hong Kong to make our races even more competitive!

Our “Tree” medals are handmade from reclaimed Camphor wood, a native Chinese tree that has long been used for making traditional wardrobes and chests because of its natural resistance to insects. It’s a common lane-side tree in China and are usually trimmed down every autumn after they have shed their leaves, to prompt good growth in the following spring. The wood then gets reclaimed and cut into discs, and must be dried at least 3 times, within 2 days immediately after cutting in order to retain its quality. Each medal is unique in its shape, grain or tint. No chemical stain or paint is used - The medals are simply laser-engraved, sanded and lightly polished by hand in Hang Zhou, China.
The lanyards are sourced locally in Hong Kong. They are then cut, sewn, tied and knotted, to finish the medals - all done in Hong Kong. The lanyards could easily be undone to be reused again and again.
Hang this medal in your wardrobe – not only it smells nice, but it is also an excellent natural way to protect your clothes from Hong Kong’s humidity and moth issues. They are also excellent coasters. They are 100% bio-degradable and will leave no chemical trace.
This is not only a beautiful and unique medal, but also an eco-choice - for our oceans and planet! This makes our medals sustainable and completely unique!
Well done to all our swimmers who took home one of our unique medals last weekend!

Thank you to all our paddlers and first aid team last week for keeping all the swimmers safe in the water and on the land! We wouldn’t be able to host events without capable and diligent members of the team watching over all our participants. Thanks for keeping everyone safe, on course, and getting them all back to the beach!
