Topic: Some Blessings That Come With Fearing God
(Self Assessment)
Background: Rather than meaning terror or cowering in fright, the fear of the Lord can be seen as the state of profound reverence, awe, and deep respect for God’s supreme power and majesty. (Hebrews 12: 28- 29).
And no! the concept of fearing God is never a no-longer-applicable-Old-Testament-kind-of-thing. Neither, should the awareness of God’s love and grace cause us to disregard His holiness, righteousness, and justice.
For, "“The Lord confides in those who fear Him. He makes His covenant known to them” (Psalm 25:14). Yes! Not only does God watch over, love, and delight in those who fear Him, He also confides in them. Excellent!
Now, can there be any other benefits in fearing God? For deliberations on the subject, kindly gather the family. Let's have a Bible study.
Text: Psalm 34: 7- 10
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.
9 Fear the Lord, you His holy people, for those who fear Him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. AMEN
