Toyota Land Cruiser LJ78 M57n 6 speed manual 🔥

Weekends project to upgrade this Toyota to modern power, bmw m57n engine and bmw 6 speed manual gearbox.

The car was sandblasted and painted underneath and engine bay, alot of custom parts and unknowns being the first Toyota 78 converted by us but we managed to overcome any obstacle.

Electrical side of things definitely more challenging than a nissan patrol.

Stage1 remap to 270hp
Front mount intercooler with 2.5” boost pipes
2.5” stainless steel exhaust
Custom engine mounts
Viscous fan with custom radiator shroud
Oem airbox with k&n air filter
Engine fully refreshed off all gaskets, seals, water pump, thermostat etc
Working aircon system

Restoration and engine conversion, this overlanding Patrol is ready for any destination ⛰️ 🌎

Utilising a M57n engine with bmw 6 speed manual 6 speed reliability is a must, we kept everything simple, standard turbo, viscous cooling, and a stage 1 map, enough power for this Patrol to keep up with any traffic despite the weight.

Jay’s M57 8HP-powered Y61 Patrol has just returned from an epic 9,000-mile adventure across the Sahara Desert! 🌍🏜️

It’s not the first major trip this Patrol has completed since we carried out the engine and gearbox conversion, and once again it proved its reliability every step of the way. 💪

Back in the workshop, we addressed some rust that had developed around the windscreen. Due to the vehicle’s age and previous windscreen installers not preparing the aperture correctly, corrosion had started to form.

We removed the old windscreen, stripped all the rust back to bare metal, treated the affected areas, applied epoxy primer, colour-matched paint and lacquer, then finished the job with a brand-new windscreen and seal.

Now it’s ready for many more adventures to come.👌

Together with our friend from The Land Cruiser Garage we are finishing up the Toyota Land Cruiser LJ78 with M57n and bmw 6sped manual gearbox 🔥

Engine sitting perfect in the engine bay, retaining all the 4x4 functions, aircon etc.

If you want to convert your Toyota to M57 we have the adapters and mounts necessary 😎👌

The new built engine is in!

We managed to retrofit a power steering pump onto the b58 engine, electronic thermostat delete, soon to follow a classic inline thermostat setup.

Gearbox received and upgraded aluminium sump kit, new plug, filter and oil seal.
