When you get asked by a customer to pop in to a Garage for a quick second opinion as they think they're being fobbed off -only to be greeted with- not sure why you're even here as we have our own Sparkie 😳. Followed by Plug your computer on to it and there'll be no warranty on the new FR fitted.

The welcome alone made me want to have a nose 😂😂

Fast Forward 4 and a bit hours later after having to Replace the engine ECU that was burnt out , Engine loom , and crank sensor she runs like a dream on the original old FR unit -left the new keys on but programmed them all with the old just in case they decide to have their new ignition back .

To be fair to them it did say CODE on the dash and they were waiting for their online Jaltest slot to get it programmed up 🤷🏿🤷🏿-not sure how that works .Maybe just maybe the new ignition switch and FR unit the garage fitted would have got it going after all. We'll never know now !
One more job on it tomorrow when the customer has it back at their yard -delete the keys not with the vehicle.

When you get called out to a job to diagnose a fault only to be rubbished and told your invoice won't be paid after a couple of days because they've had a second opinion from an electrician who works with a gearbox repair specialist.I used a Genuine Delphi Vci to tell them the cal kept failing because of an internal issue in the box .Now ,when the specialist box builder's mobile tech with the latest all singing and dancing Diag tool tells you he's got 24/7 tech support with tech Viewer you listen .He's told my now ex customer the gears will bed in that's why it's only changing in odd numbers going up the box -and I needed to know what I'm on about .
Fast forward to Saturday morning-truck gets recovered to a different garage as the specialist couldn't have it in because they close at 5 Friday and aren't back till 830 Monday. .I get called in for a diag and guess what -it's the same ole truck I didn't get paid for because I didn't have a clue .I've told the garage what I thought,had em take the lid off as it was quicker than sending the box .Needless to say the box is now Scrap and the customer's learning a valuable lesson 🤦🏿🤦🏿.

I've been in the game long enough -sometimes I'll beat on the drum,use a Delphi, whatever tool the garage has and the diagnostic will be spot on 👌🏿👌🏿.I suppose I need to upgrade my gear to some with technical support 😂😂😂😂. Enjoy the good weather we're having

One that's had keys added in the past and corrupted the Coordinator and to spice it up added an ECU from a different vehicle.Scania's solution was to replace the keys which would have added more costs to a job that's already long overdue and priced.All paired up and running as should 👌🏿with the same keys and new ECU .On to the next one ✨

We had to chase this one down the country after 6 breakdowns on the same day with the driver having to disconnect the battery everytime it conked out just to do a few dozen miles 🤦🏿🤦🏿 Customer told he needed another Throttle pedal -second one in a week and try and limp it back 300 odd mile 😕😕.Diagnosed , supplied and programmed a CPC roadside and even managed to correct an internal Engine ECU fault.Another happy customer albeit with hardly any nails and hair left 😂😂👌🏿.

Doing a tool count after making and repairing a couple of Chassis and Engine looms that are on backorder for a local dealership -Customer couldn't wait the minimum 12 weeks for the one loom as it's fitted on emergency equipment with downtime not an option.The dealer couldn't help as they didn't have some of the terminal extractor/insertion tools and didn't want to commit so we got in and got it sorted for em .

🤔This happened over the weekend -a Mobile locksmith/remapping specialist left their now Ex customer's 4 Trucks disabled and unable to run after corrupting the EIS and deleting most key data by trying to Virginise ECU's after writing the wrong files into the MCMs .As if one wasn't bad enough to do all 4 and get stopped whilst trying to copy data from a 5th because they had to move some trailers is beyond belief 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️. Mercedes couldn't do anything with them onsite and by chance the Tech rang me to see if I could help .3 different bits of kits later 🚛💨💨

Unfortunately for the customer,we've had to replace 3 sets of keys but managed to salvage one EIS . All ECU's now back on factory software and the best bit is three of them running again 👌🏿👌🏿.A bit late in the day so we'll do the last one first thing in the morning.

When the deal's too good to be tru it probably is 😎😎.Keep em Coming
