We’re excited to start showcasing what our Gunold Student Sponsorship winners have created using their Gunold thread selections!

First, we have Tisha Nilesh from Nottingham Trent University, one of our Runner Ups.

✨ Shanta Milan – The Harmony of Divine Energies ✨

Inspired by the divine harmony between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, this project explores the balance between stillness and devotion through sacred imagery, mantras, and symbolic embroidered elements.

The garments combine strong spiritual motifs with a contemporary aesthetic, bridging tradition and modernity through layered textile storytelling.

Gunold threads were used throughout for their high quality, colour depth, and durability. Most embroidery was produced on a multi-head embroidery machine, using primarily tatami and contour stitching to create rich texture, tonal variation, depth, and technical clarity.
