For those of you who are new to skingrowsback hereโ€™s a quick carousel showing the beginnings of the brand and the connection to messenger culture.

The founders, Catt & Jamie were both working couriers in London and Sydney during the early thousands. It started in a spare bedroom in Marrickville with a few small carry products. Catt was doing all of the sewing at the time as she had some experience with a sewing machine, this was around 2006. This later shifted and Jamie took up the main production role shortly after.

These products were mostly sold to local messenger and fixed gear friends in Sydney. Catt & Jamie attended and supported a number of messenger events globally. Fixed Gear and Messenger culture was at its peak during this time, which gave them the opportunity to grow.

As the skill developed so did the products, moving on to larger and more complex messenger bags that later went on to be highly sought after.

As skingrowsback evolved we started to develop and produce more cycling related products which we are now more widely know for.

Weโ€™re grateful to have been a small part of that scene and look back with fond memories.

Now located in Melbourne skingrowsback operates a small production team and continues to manufacture in-house.

Thank you to all the event organisers and everyone that helped out for CMWC Sydney 2025. A massive shout out to everyone who came, some local but especially those who travelled from overseas.

It was good to see so many old faces and meet so many new ones.
