Hello Everyone,

Another busy week of fitting towbars and electrics. I said last week we had a Ifor Williams plant trailer in for a service, it was actually an indespension plant trailer! 🙈 We still have it as the rear axle is now needing replaced. We'll share some pictures of progress with you soon.

One of our towbar fittings this week was fitting an ACPS Automotive Aftermarket (Oris) detachable swan neck towbar and PF Jones 7 pin dedicated electrics to a Kia Niro for PF Jones nice tidy installation.

One of our other jobs was a 7 pin towbar electrics to 13 pin towbar electrics conversion.

Hello Everyone,

Another busy week of fitting towbars and electrics. We've also got a Ifor Williams plant trailer in for a service, which needs quite a bit of work to make it roadworthy again. You wouldn't believe how often we come across trailers that should not be on the road! 😮

This week we had a nice Mini Countryman in for an ACPS Automotive Aftermarket (Oris) detachable swan neck towbar and full 13 pin ConWys dedicated electrics, photos attached.

Hello Everyone,

Another busy week at TowBars2U.

We do a lot of towbars and electrics on Ford Transit Customs/Ford Transits, we do things a little differently though. The towbar electrics are usually located behind the step in the passenger side, but we move it to under the passenger seat. There are two reasons for this, one, for better access, two, the steps often suffer from water ingress problems from leaking grommets, which would in turn affect the towbar electrics functionality and potentially stop working altogether. Photographs attached.

We also fit a lot of DC-DC chargers for leisure batteries. We see a lot of standard split charge relays fitted to newer vehicles that have smart alternators. When a smart alternator is running it's voltage varies all the time, sometimes the voltage is too low to switch on a split charge relay, which in turn will not charge the leisure battery. This is now a very common issue. Photographs attached.

We have achieved NTTA 5 Star Quality Secured Accredited Centre status for our Central Scotland Trailer Servicing Center workshop!

To celebrate this achievement, we're offering FREE Trailer Safety Inspections throughout August.

Hello Everyone,

We know we've not posted for a while again, it is literally because we are so busy. So a big thanks to all of our customers old and new for supporting us.

One of the big projects we have been working on for a couple of years is installing a custom wiring loom, manufactured by ourselves, for a Ford Zodiac for Hamilton Racing This is a very special project that we have been involved in. The project is in the finishing stages and we will share photographs of the finished project. It is a special one, so we are going to keep you all in suspense.

As ever, towbar fitting is our biggest focus and the season is already in full swing. I've attached some photographs of some of our recent work. If anyone is after a towbar or has any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
