A great tiled finish starts before the tiles go down.​

The right preparation helps create a surface the adhesive can bond to properly, giving the rest of the system a better foundation.​

PRIMER DG 74 is a water-based primer for preparing gypsum plaster, plasterboard, anhydrite screeds and cement screeds before tiling.​

The tiles might be the first thing you notice, but the finish relies on everything used to install them.

For this bathroom project in Solihull, Tile Demand used Fassa Bortolo AZ 59 adhesive across the floors and walls, with Fassafill Small grout and Fassasil sealant to complete the installation.

A really strong finished result and a great example of the system working together, from first fixing right through to finishing.

For architects, specifiers and builders working on timber frame construction, the right render build-up is essential to creating a durable, stable and long-lasting finish.

This Wednesday 14th October 2026, our UK National CPD Specialist, Daniel Baxter, will be presenting an online CPD on Render Systems for Timber Frame Construction.

Part of DCE CPD’s New Build Day, the session will show how to specify and detail render systems for timber frame construction with greater confidence, from creating a stable substrate through to getting critical detailing right.

Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to specify robust render systems for timber frame construction, spot the details that can compromise performance and make more confident decisions around certification and installation.

On Thursday 15th October 2026, Ikonic customers can get hands-on with two of the best-selling Fassa Bortolo floor preparation products: SL 416, our fast-setting bagged leveller and SA 500, our self-smoothing pumpable screed.

SL 416 is designed for easy application and quick setting. SA 500 offers excellent workability and high flatness, with the added benefit of being well suited to underfloor heating and cooling systems. The training day is a chance to see both products in action, try them for yourself and pick up practical advice on how to get the best from them on site.
