Where Will the Water Go?

When we think about flood protection, we tend to think about protecting front doors, shop fronts and the buildings themselves.

But water doesn’t always choose the obvious route.

It can find its way towards:

🚗 Car parks
🏗️ Construction sites
🚪 Loading bays
🏢 Warehouse entrances
🛣️ Access roads
📦 Storage areas
🚧 Temporary site entrances

So here’s a question worth asking:

If the rain started falling heavily today, where would the water go? 👀

Taking a few minutes to look around your business and identifing those vulnerable points could make all the difference when the next downpour arrives.

Plan for the water before you have to deal with it.

🌊 Shining a Light on Local Flood Support Groups: Cornwall Community Flood Forum

As part of our “Shining a Light on Local Flood Support Groups” campaign, we’re celebrating the communities and volunteers working behind the scenes to help people prepare, adapt, and become more resilient to flooding.

Today, we’re highlighting Cornwall Community Flood Forum, a community-led organisation helping people across Cornwall better understand flood risk, prepare for flooding, and build long-term resilience.

With a growing network of local communities and volunteers, the Forum supports initiatives including Flood Warden training, community flood plans, practical exercises and Property Flood Resilience.

The work in Lostwithiel is a great example of this in action, with local Flood Wardens putting their community flood plan to the test through a realistic emergency exercise.

From sharing local knowledge to building practical skills, Cornwall Community Flood Forum shows the power of communities coming together to prepare for future flood events.

Thank you to CCFF and all the local flood support groups making a difference across our communities.

Name one thing you have at your home or premises that you’d rather never have to use…

A fire extinguisher? 🧯
A first-aid kit? 🩹
An emergency torch? 🔦
A backup generator? ⚡

We all keep these things to hand for the day we hope never comes.

So why should flood protection be any different?

FloodClip is there for one reason, to be ready before you need it.

Would FloodClip be on your list?

Not every flood defence needs to be permanent.

Sometimes you need a solution that can be deployed quickly, where it's needed, and removed just as easily once the risk has passed.

That's where FloodClip Flood Barrier comes in.

Designed as a temporary flood defence, FloodClip can be used to redirect floodwater away from vulnerable buildings, roads, access routes and critical infrastructure.

Its modular design makes it easy to create straight runs or corners, helping you manage water where it poses the greatest risk.

Whether it's protecting a commercial site, supporting emergency response teams or providing an extra layer of resilience during severe weather, FloodClip offers a practical, reusable alternative to sandbags.

Temporary doesn't mean compromising on performance. It means having the flexibility to respond quickly, reduce disruption and protect what matters most when floodwater is on the move.

You never think about flood protection until you need it.

Flooding can happen quickly, and being prepared before severe weather arrives can make a real difference. Taking time to consider your flood risks, prevention measures, and what action you’ll take can help you feel more prepared when conditions change.

Putting simple steps in place now could help protect what matters most later.

Flood protection doesn’t always need to be permanent.

In many situations, a temporary barrier can be a practical primary line of defence, giving you high-level protection.

The FloodClip system provides rapid-response flood protection built for urban environments:

⏱️ Deploys in minutes: Modular design requires no tools, sandbags, or ground fixings.
💧 Self-anchoring technology: Uses the weight of oncoming floodwater to lock firmly to the surface.
🧱 Modular & flexible: Follows curves, corners, great for hard surfaces like concrete or tarmac.
📦 Stackable: Stores away neatly when not in use.

When considering flood resilience, choosing the right approach depends on the risks, the site, and the level of protection required.

If you’re exploring options for flood protection, our team can help discuss the solutions that best suit your requirements.
