Meet Steve – Director of S J Wood Systems Ltd ⭐

With more than 23 years’ experience in the bus and coach industry, and over 13 years building S J Wood Systems, he brings a wealth of practical, hands-on knowledge across vehicle technology and electrical systems.

His experience includes fire suppression, CCTV, intercoms, hearing loops, illuminated LED advertising, vehicle tracking and telematics, driver fatigue systems, AVAS, and a wide range of electrical repairs, fault-finding and vehicle modifications.

Before founding S J Wood Systems, Steve worked for one of the UK’s leading mobile CCTV companies, progressing to Team Leader and gaining extensive experience in installations, engineering support and complex vehicle systems.

He later joined Epsom Coaches Group, where he was responsible for CCTV maintenance, servicing and repairs across the fleet.

More recently, he has been supporting Elite Vehicle Supplies with fire suppression repairs and system checks, helping to keep vehicles safe, compliant and operational. It’s a relationship built over many years on trust, reliability and a shared commitment to high standards; one that now feels more like working with family than simply another business partnership.

Alongside S J Wood Systems, Steve also works with Hive Associates, providing engineering support and practical technical expertise.

Another successful installation completed for Abbey Travel.

We recently fitted two fully integrated onboard CCTV and vehicle safety systems, including:

• 13 CCTV cameras
• Timespace DVRs
• Bridge Clear integration

⭐ Meet John – Lead Fire Suppression Engineer at SJWOOD ⭐️

With over 20 years of experience in the bus industry, he brings extensive technical knowledge across a wide range of vehicle systems.

As our Fire Suppression Engineer, he also has extensive experience in CCTV, hearing loops, intercoms, electrical installations, repairs and system inspections.

His current project involves overseeing a large-scale LED advertising campaign across London buses, helping ensure the work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

His experience, attention to detail and technical knowledge make him a key part of the team 👏

A pleasure working on these stunning new additions for Nova Bussing — the brand new Yutong GT12 coach and Yutong TC9 midi coach.

We’ve completed the CCTV installation and setup, helping keep both vehicles covered from every angle. 🔧📹

Did you know? On the GT12, we can now integrate directly with the factory-fitted 360° camera system — meaning a much cleaner external finish while capturing and recording complete vehicle coverage for even greater protection.

We’ve been proud to work alongside Nova for many years, and these latest installations are another step in strengthening that long-standing partnership 🤝
