We are looking for an engineer with a strong focus on industrial automation and PLC-based control systems, whilst having a good understanding of the mechanical aspects of industrial machinery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys varied work, ranging from control panel design and PLC programming to onsite commissioning and troubleshooting. We are looking for a Multi-Disciplinary Engineer, a hands-on, adaptable engineer who enjoys variety in their work. This is not a narrow or desk-only role. You'll be involved across the full spectrum of our operations, from initial design to on-site customer support. Your typical week could include CAD design, mechanical assembly, site visits, problem-solving with customers, and modifying existing machinery.

Here we have a group of simple motorised turntables used in the decorating of ceramic tableware.

Our customer was keen to improve the safety of their plate making machine. We reviewed their system and proposed a vertically lifting counterbalanced guard with interlocked safety switch and request to enter push button.

The software and safety wiring were also modified such that access could be requested and granted whilst the remaining of the machine (it's 30m long) could continue working. This not only keeps the workforce safe but maximizes productivity at the same time.

Here's an example of the industrial control panels we design and manufacture. This one was a set of four to control industrial ovens that evaporate solvents from the glass fibre cords in car timing belts. All four had coordinated networked safety along with interfacing to a regenerative thermal oxidiser (RTO) via OPC/UA and existing winders using Profinet.

When a manufacturer of high performance brakes wanted a new low volume, no faults forward, assembly bench we rose to the challenge.

The system monitors the position of the tool via encoders on the bespoke torque reaction arm and will only allow the correct bolts to be tightened. The specification of the bolt positions for the various calipers is entered via the HMI along with which socket is to be taken from the monitored socket select. The caliper is held in a bespoke 3D printed fixture that clamps the caliper such that it cannot be released until correctly fastened or rejected by an authorised operator and placed in the monitored blue reject bin.

Revised pusher rod extension in design in our 3D CAD. The new parts provide an enhanced seal to protect the seal of the pneumatic cylinder, giving better machine reliability along with a full cover complete with drip edge to keep the slurry away from the cylinder rod as much as possible.
