Our product range is designed to extend the life of any timber post in contact with the ground, as well as offer a range of tools to make the job easier. The Postsaver dual-layer barrier system is manufactured in the UK and consists of a heavy gauge thermoplastic Polyethylene outer sleeve lined with a meltable bituminous sealer. In use the Postsaver Pro-Sleeve sleeve is placed over the in-ground s

ection of the post then heated using a simple high throughput application machine at the point of production. This causes the bituminous liner to melt and seal the surface of the timber whilst the outer sleeve shrinks down tightly on to the pole. This creates a tough dual layer barrier which keeps the preservative in and the causes of decay out even in the wettest ground conditions.

❓“Should I paint fence posts with bitumen before putting them in the ground?”

Bitumen may offer short-term protection, but timber expands and contracts with the weather 🌦️ which can cause cracks, letting moisture in and leading to rot over time.

⏳ It’s also messy and time-consuming to apply properly.

✅ Postsaver’s dual-layer ground-line protection system is designed to stay bonded to the timber, with a heat-shrunk outer layer for durable long-term protection below ground 💪
