One of Southend's flagship business events for 2026, on home turf for us.

At both, we'll have our printers running live on the stand, samples showcasing our materials, and we'll be talking through everything from product design and prototyping to small batch production and custom orders.

Another one for the “things I didn’t expect to be modelling this year” pile: a heraldic crest, CAD modelled from a reference image and matched to an existing cast iron shield.

The client sent an image of the lion design they wanted. That meant modelling it from scratch in CAD, then contouring the back of the print to match the curve of the metal shield exactly so it sits flush against it.

Printed in white PETG on the A2L for that clean, plaque-like finish against the dark cast iron.

Small, precise, satisfying work. CAD modelling and mechanical fit in equal measure.

We built a laptop stand that's also a pen holder.

Your MacBook sits in the slot, and five pen holders run along the base, holding whatever you're reaching for mid call. No more digging through a drawer.

Same week, we finished a personalised desk organiser. Business card slot, cork coasters, pen tray, your name built straight into the design rather than stuck on top.

Both came off the printers at Layered Shape HQ this week. Small products, but the kind of thing that makes a desk feel like yours rather than a generic setup.
