Today is the day we never thought would happen.
Today is the big day, Baz (or as we affectionately call him, the oldest Don), has decided to hang up his keys! Weโre saying goodbye to Baz (and finally letting him have a well-deserved lie-in!) as he retires! ๐
Bazโs career has always been about family. He started working with dad in construction plant hire, and then moved on to construction plant transport with his two brothers. Some people clock in with colleagues, but Baz just called it a family reunion every day! ๐ทโโ๏ธ
Thank you Dad for starting us off in life and business so we can all work together with the pride of the Haselden name ๐.
Over the years, Baz has been the man you could always count onโwhether it was getting the job done, having a laugh or somehow knowing absolutely everything about everything. There arenโt many like him, and there definitely wonโt be another Baz.
It wonโt be the same without the jokes, the stories and his unmistakable presence, but if anyoneโs earned the right to put his feet up (for a few days at least, we have a trailer that needs a brake test ๐), itโs him.
Baz, thank you for everythingโyouโve left your mark on everyone youโve worked with over the past 40 years more than you probably realise. Enjoy your retirement, youโve more than earned itโฆ even if we all know you wonโt be able to sit still for long! ๐
All the very best, Baz, oldest Don, big bro youโll be missed more than words can say
PS believe me when I say this, it has been like working with the Chuckle Brothers at times ๐๐
