The Story Behind Our Charity of the Year 🧡

At Westcoast, supporting both our people and our local community is at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association (Reading & West Berkshire branch), and we want to share why this cause is so close to our hearts.

For our colleague Claire, this isn’t just a charity - it’s deeply personal. After losing her close friend Helen to MND, she saw first-hand the difference the charity makes to families during the toughest times. That experience inspired her to nominate them.

In May, Claire will be taking on a 30-mile walking challenge - just one of the many ways we’ll be raising funds and awareness this year.

We look forward to making a difference, supporting vital care, guidance, and research for those impacted by this devastating disease.

We’re immensely proud to share that Westcoast has won Best ED&I Project/Initiative of the Year at the CRN UK Channel Awards 2025!

This award is recognition of how we’re championing our people, and delivering real impact every day.

Here’s what our progress looks like in action:
✅ Women now make up 39.8% of our workforce – and 66% of our statutory board
✅ 54,443 students mentored through BrightSparks, opening doors for underrepresented talent
✅ 100% of managers trained in neuroinclusion and launched our Neurodiversity Champions programme
✅ Partnered with Riley to provide free sustainable period products and support period poverty charities
✅ Enhanced family policies and 24/7 wellbeing support for all employees
