We're excited to see the opening of Hartlepool Highlight Leisure Centre, where Sotech have provided approx 2,000m2 of Optima Shingles finished in a range of Alumet Anodising Anodised colours.

Succeeding the former Mill House Leisure Centre, the new facility provides a range of state-of-the-art facilities including a 100-station gym, access to water-sport opportunities and three pools designed to cater for every age and ability.

Inspired by Hartlepool's maritime heritage, the fish-scale effect of the shingles creates a distinctive facade that makes the building a true local landmark.

"A profound impact on the children as they grow up." Zaha Hadid.

Completed in 2010 and winner of the 2011 RIBA Stirling Prize for Architecture, Evelyn Grace Academy is a testament to how versatile the usage of rainscreen cladding can be.

The first ever academy to win the award, build on a constrained 1.4 hectare urban site was transformed to provide a cutting-edge secondary school in Brixton, London that famously features a 100-meter running track cutting directly through the heart of the building.

Sotech supplied over 1500sqm of Optima IPC, curved soffits and cills on the £37.5 million Academy.

The project demanded extensive bespoke manufacturing, with many panels featuring complex geometries, tapered corners and challenging angles. Every element had to be carefully designed and manufactured to suit its precise location within the façade.

Operated by ARK (Absolute Return for Kids), the academy was created to provide greater educational opportunities for young people in inner-city communities, combining innovative learning spaces with a bold, sculptural design that reflects the energy and movement of the students within it.

ALPOLIC A1 was the first truly non-combustible Laminated Aluminium Façade Panel with Geo Mineral Core, achieving A1 classification under EN 13501-1 and supported by BS 8414 test evidence.
