Prep Works is has been established to offer component refinishing services in the North West and Nationally. Established in November 2023, new services are being added regularly.

New Product! NLA from Porsche, we can now supply new complete covers for 996 Elephant Ear GT seats found in the 996 GT3 and GT. These come complete with new foams. Also available are side bolster protectors made from the same fabric. These Velcro in and help to protect the high wear area. These can also be supplied in leather. New suppliers and stock! for brake discs and caliper mounting studs and brake pads. We have been supplying for a while, but have just added to our stock. As 2026 begins, Prepworks evolves. This year, we evolve from being a business that looks after all cars and provides services to clean and protect only, to a business that specialises in Porsche’s water cooled models. Especially 996 & 997 GT models. We will be expanding the services offered, and have a website in build to be released in the next month or so. News, products and information will be released as and when we can. If you are looking for anything in the mean time, please get in touch.

We have been quiet on here for a while, but things are due to change. Several updates are coming, this being the first in a line of product announcements as we expand our parts offerings.
During the tail end of 2024 we worked with to compile a kit designed to be an upgrade replacement kit for 996 GT3’s. The intention was to be able to replace what is likely very tired OEM dampers, with a modern solution that combines spring rates similar to original supplier, matched damping and the bonus of damping adjustment. This kit has been compiled specifically for and has now been tested on both road and track and is available to order. The kit is designed to utilise the OE GT3 front top mount, and comes supplied with Nitrons rear top mount. The rear adjusters are extended into the cabin to aid adjustment on cars fitted with bucket seats and cages. The front adjusters sit on top of the dampers. We now have several kits out and fitted on cars with positive feedback from all customers.

First event for Prepworks a couple of weeks ago with . A decent turnout on the day. We ran a competition to win a £250 dry ice cleaner voucher on the day and the winner was Bryn Phillips. Looking forward to seeing what he brings us.

We will be displaying at the event on Sunday 11/08. We will have some parts on display, our 911 GT3 and images of our work. We will have a competition on the day to win a £250 dry ice cleaning voucher, it will be a paid entry, with money going to the events nominated charity.

We had 996 GT3 in for an underside Dry Ice clean a little while back. This came in minus the engine, but Darren brought us the gearbox separately with the car. We gave the car and plastics a thorough clean and then protected the underside of the car with UC. Porsche is by far the most popular brand of car we have cleaned, but it is not all we do. Honda K20 Inlet manifold transformation. This went through a 3 stage process to degrease inside and out, strip the old paint, then refinish in the vapour blaster. Turned out better than new.

31/01/2024

Next up on a full underside clean was Frank’s 1985 911 Targa. This came in on our January offer and the plan was to give the arches and floor a once over to check on originality, structural integrity and investigate if there was any corrosion. We managed to remove 4.6kg of collected dirt and happily discovered that the car is solid and original. Car was protected again with products post clean, as this car gets used. targa
