Double header today!! We're currently commissioning an Electratherm 6500B+ in Perth Scotland, and an Electratherm PM75 in Market Drayton.

The 6500B+ in Perth is scheduled to start on the 22nd July after the biomass boiler has been commissioned.

The PM75 in Market Drayton is scheduled to start tomorrow. Producing 75kWe from waste heat.

This client had originally installed over 500kWe total power from a competitor. Unfortunately the site didn't work so they approached us. The site has now installed x1 Electratherm 6500B+ ORC to replace one of the competitors units.

After 21 years ORC manufacturing experience and over 1.5 million run hours alone in the UK, its not surprising we simply turned up, removed one of the competitors units, plumbed ours in and pressed go! Just a shame they didnt come to us in the first place. Next on the job list is, remove the remaining competitors units and replace with more tried and tested Electratherm 6500B+

This Electratherm ORC had its 1 year service completed today. The unit has achieved a 71% uptime for the year which in isolation is one of the lowest for the UK fleet. But when you consider that the heat source for this unit is a chicken litter boiler that needs a full service every 21 days the ORC uptime is excellent.

Electratherm are just releasing a great new tool for sites considering a Bio-char installation and want to calculate the heat balance. You can take inputs commonly known at the beginning of project design (feed rate, feed type, moisture, target conversion rate) to estimate the waste heat from the process – previously challenging to characterize until biocarbon production equipment is in place.

Builds on first principles to yield mass-balance approach that ties the movement of carbon through the system to the usable heat output.
Intended to help refine the estimate for waste heat at early project stages, improving equipment selection and project estimates to support project bankability, credible carbon claims, and reduce risk.

A great day to service one of the older machines in the UK fleet. This machine has 63,390 hrs of runtime and has generated 3,988,238 kWh of carbon free electricity from waste heat!

The generator/expander on this machine has just passed 20,000hrs of operation and is on track to exceed the expected 30,000hrs before replacement.
