💥Mini Cooper S R53 Track Exhaust 💥

The supercharged R53 Cooper S is still one of the most entertaining hot hatches built, especially when setup properly for track use!

For this we fabricated a full 2.5” stainless catback exhaust system. Fully mandrel bent, featuring a large resonator and rear silencer to keep the noise levels under control without sacrificing exhaust gas velocity or performance!

Mandrel bending vs crush bending 🤔

Usually deleting a resonator improves sound and flow, but if the exhaust is “crush bent” then you’re adding a huge restriction to the exhaust system!

A crush bend reduces the internal diameter by up to 20mm creating huge turbulence and increasing back pressure. An exhaust system with multiple crush bends will never flow the same as a mandrel bent system!

Mandrel bending is where it all changes. Mandrel bending keeps the diameter consistent all the way throughout the bend for smoother flow and performance.

That’s why we run 2 CNC mandrel benders in house, precision bends for smoother flow which results in better performance with no unnecessary bottle necks.

You may ask why doesn’t every exhaust company mandrel benders? It’s all down to cost and time. Mandrel benders and tooling are ten times more expensive and significantly more challenging to setup compared to a crush bending machine. But ultimately what we all want is a greater product, which is why mandrel bending is the best.

Audi SQ5 Diesel in for a subtle but proper upgrade 🔥

We fabricated a custom midpipe in house, mandrel bending it ourselves from stainless steel and fully TIG welded for strength. Keeping the bends smooth and consistent helps maintain exhaust flow, reducing restriction compared to standard systems.

The result is improved performance, smoother power delivery, and a deeper, cleaner tone all without going over the top. This performs as good as it looks!
