In this weeks First View, Barry McAleer reflects on the recent event in Central Park, where the FD New York team joined thousands of professionals for the 50th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, one of the world's largest corporate running events.

Representing FD, 14 colleagues completed the 3.5-mile run, demonstrating great team spirit, energy and determination.

Our Dublin teams came together recently for an evening of good conversation, great food, and a chance to unwind outside the office.

Hosted in the heart of Dublin at NoLita, the evening was filled with plenty of laughs and team catch-ups.

In this weekโ€™s First View Victoria Shanks and Guan Yu Lim reflect on KXโ€™s latest Meet Up in Bangalore. The event brought together more than 100 passionate kdb+ developers, industry leaders, long-standing community members, and over 20 international KX clients for an evening of technical insights, collaboration, and networking.

Returning to Bangalore, Victoria reflected on just how much the community has grown since KXโ€™s very first event in the city back in 2015.

This week weโ€™re shining the spotlight on Cian McConville, an Application Support Analyst within FDโ€™s Application Managed Services practice. Over the past 3 years, Cian has been working as part of the Calypso Support team, building expertise across treasury, finance, risk, front office and back office operations.

After beginning his career journey in education, Cian made the transition into finance and technology through FDโ€™s Assured Skills Academy. Alongside his role here, he also plays intercounty Gaelic football for Armagh, balancing the demands of elite sport with a fast-paced career in technology and finance, and has achieved notable success along the way as part of the Armagh panel, winning both All-Ireland and Ulster medals. ๐Ÿ

His piece of advice?

As the placement year wraps up, the 2025/26 Placement Cohort got together one last time for a brilliant day in Belfast.

From taking on the challenges at Prison Island, to lunch at Amelia Hall, and finishing the day celebrating at Haymarket, it was a great way to round off the year and spend time together outside of work.
