🍂 Hello, September! 🍂 A new month brings cooler days, changing colours and plenty of jobs to keep your garden looking its best.

🌱 September garden jobs:

🍃 Scarify your lawn to remove moss and thatch
🌿 Aerate compacted lawns to improve drainage
🌱 Apply a lawn Topdressing Sand to smooth the surface and encourage healthy new growth
🌷 Plant spring-flowering bulbs ready for next year
✂️ Trim hedges, checking carefully for late-nesting birds first
🌾 Divide overcrowded perennials
🍂 Start collecting fallen leaves to make leaf mould
🥕 Harvest your remaining fruit, vegetables and herbs

💡 Dandy Tips:

✅ Autumn is an ideal time to repair tired or patchy lawns, as the soil is still warm and there is usually more moisture around.

✅ Keep watering newly planted trees, shrubs and turf during dry spells. Cooler weather does not always mean the soil is moist!

✅ Add mulch around plants to help retain moisture, suppress weeds and protect roots as temperatures begin to fall.

"EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE...
I needed advice on purchasing some slate chippings and called Dandy's in Chester. I spoke to a very helpful.and knowledgeable man on the phone who was able to give me full details of the shade of slate that i required and was also able to check that a delivery could be arranged onto my property and not left on the kerb which is typical of other companies that i contacted. He was very helpful and took time to ensure my order was correct and arranged a delivery at a time that was suitable for me.
The delivery arrived on time, the blue plumb slate chippings were even better than the description and an excellent purchase.
The delivery driver was also unbelievably helpful by lowering the chippings into my garden in exactly the area that i had hoped for and also slitting the carrying bag for me to make it easier for me to move the chippings into their final position.
My whole experience with Dandy,s from beginning to end was outstanding. I will 100% be using this company again and would absolutely recommend them to others.
