Had a customer with a big problem on his Graham Edwards stock trailer that was requiring backplates due to corrosion and brakes re-done and the only option was to replace the AL-KO/ BPW axles with new axle units which for a tri axle trailer at 10+ year old was an expensive option so we opted to convert to Knott style system along with new cable so in future parts can be easily sourced ,so still running 200x50 shoes and with a slight mod to the backplates and reattach as per the original ones , so if you find yourself facing the same issue with rotten brake units and the axles etc are sound we can convert to take the Knotts style units to keep things rolling without the need for be axles
