We’re proud to support the family of our dear colleague, Malcom Shaw, who sadly passed away on 22nd January after a brave fight with cancer 💔

His family are taking part in the Sparkle Walk in his memory, on what would have been his birthday ❤️

The incredible care from Ashgate Hospice made his final days at home possible, and this is their way of giving something back.

🏠 Supporting People Through Homelessness
Pathways is Chesterfield’s primary centre for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home. They provide housing advice and support, access to essential services, mentoring, and activities to support wellbeing.

Thanks to a £3,800 grant from the Minorfern Foundation, we’ve been able to support people moving into temporary housing by providing essential items - from sleeping bags to starter kits that include a toaster, kettle, cleaning supplies, and other basic household basics.

🥕 Strengthening Food Security and Community
Gussies Pantry supports local residents experiencing food insecurity while fostering community engagement. Through its pantry shop, jumble shop, and community events, the project reaches households in need, providing access to affordable food, social spaces, and practical resources.

We’re proud to share that the Minorfern Foundation has awarded Gussies Pantry a £3,800 grant to further support their incredible work.

But this isn’t just a name change. We’ve given our brand a modern update that reflects how we’ve evolved and our continued commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

What’s new?
New logo and visual identity – our refreshed branding is modern, vibrant, and aligned with our company values.

We are so pleased to see that Walking4Hope, the charity we proudly awarded a grant of £4000 to earlier this year via the Minorfern Foundation, has now been recognised by Marvel star Ryan Reynolds!

Walking4Hope is an inspiring charity founded by John Bell after losing his son in 2020. The charity promotes mental well-being through various walking and outdoor activities to prevent others from facing similar struggles. John is deeply dedicated to helping others and his efforts have been acknowledged by Ryan Reynolds. In the same week as the release of his new movie, "Deadpool & Wolverine," Ryan took the time to speak about Walking4Hope.

Ryan said, "Deadpool is a character who is in pain, and he fights through it. It just seemed right to give John the proper Hollywood Deadpool treatment."

We are honoured to be part of their incredible journey and contribute to such a worthy cause ❤️

We did it! Last Sunday, 19 brave challengers from SDL Minorfern completed the Tough Mudder Challenge! It was a real test of grit and determination; some moments were truly tough mentally and physically, but even in the darkest of times, there was a helping hand or shoulder to reach that next level and get through it. Everyone was aligned with togetherness, to have fun, and to make it to the finish line, but above everything cross that finish line together. We have come away with some great memories and some battle bruises all worth it for such a great cause.

Together as a team, we’ve raised over £4000 for two amazing charities - Fairplay (https://fair-play.co.uk/) and Babbington Rescue (https://www.babbington-rescue.org.uk/) and the donations are still being accepted.
