Sandvik Crushers and screeners may be similar in appearance. But they serve different purposes on site.

A crusher reduces material size. Rock, ore, or demolition waste goes in large, comes out smaller. Through compression, impact, or attrition depending on the particular model.

A screener separates material that’s already been sized, sorting by particle size using vibrating mesh or grids, splitting a mixed feed into fractions. No size reduction happens, just classification.

In practice they work in sequence. Crush first, screen after. Sometimes screen before crushing too, to remove fines that don’t need processing and protect the crusher from unnecessary wear.
