Ignoring the early warning signs on a crusher usually ends up costing more than the fix would have.
A few things worth watching for:
• Unusual vibration or noise. Grinding, knocking or a change in pitch often means bearing wear or a loose component.
• Drop in output. If the crusher’s taking longer to process the same volume, wear plates or liners may need replacing.
• Oversized product. Inconsistent particle size is often the first sign that crushing chambers or settings have shifted out of spec.
• Overheating. A rise in oil or hydraulic temperature usually points to a lubrication or cooling issue.
• Excessive downtime for adjustments. If your team’s constantly stopping to reset or clear blockages, that’s not normal operation, it’s a symptom.
