Today is World Mental Health Day and we’re reminding our colleagues, customers and communities that nobody should have to face a difficult moment alone.

Through Under the Hard Hat, Pirtek encourages open conversations about mental health and helps people find support. Under every hard hat is a person whose wellbeing matters.

We’ve saved the big one for last! Congratulations to Darren and Wendy Squire, our Franchisee of the Year winners, celebrated at our recent Franchisee and Centre Manager Conference.

In a challenging sales environment, Darren and Wendy continued to invest in their business, launching growth projects, adding vans and team members, and strengthening their dedicated sales resource.

Their contribution reaches across the wider Pirtek network too, with Darren travelling the country to support fellow franchisees, sharing advice and collaborating on major National Accounts.

Congratulations to Pirtek York, winners of the Customer Service Award, sponsored by GB Lubricants, at our recent Franchisee and Centre Manager Conference.

Over the past three years, the centre has achieved significant growth in turnover and job numbers, with consistently high standards of customer service playing a vital role in that success.

The team has helped build confidence with one of our largest National Accounts, delivering specialist project work and creating opportunities to broaden the support Pirtek provides.

Over the last 12 months, they have also managed staffing challenges alongside increasing demand for call-outs and projects. Through it all, their commitment to customers has remained strong.

A surprise on the day, and a thoroughly deserved honour! 👏

At our recent Franchisee and Centre Manager Conference, Adam Flint received our inaugural Outstanding Dedication Award, recognising his commitment to going above and beyond for Pirtek and its people.

After stepping into a new role in 2025, Adam took on significantly greater responsibility while continuing to provide unwavering support across the business. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and he usually approaches it with a huge smile!

Whether supporting colleagues, tackling challenges or offering constructive advice, Adam sets a brilliant example of what it means to be a team player.

Future winners will be drawn from our monthly Network Champion initiative, but Adam was a fitting recipient of this first award.

🏆 Network Contribution Award: Darren Whitehead

Every strong network has people whose work makes a lasting difference, often behind the scenes. Darren Whitehead is one of those people.

At our recent Franchisee and Centre Manager Conference, Darren was named winner of the Network Contribution Award, sponsored by Bonomi Hydraulics.

For many people joining Pirtek, Darren is a key part of their first experience of the business. He brings knowledge, enthusiasm and humour to the training centre, making learning enjoyable while ensuring the importance of safe, professional work always remains clear.

His support continues long after training finishes, helping colleagues build their confidence and put their skills into practice across the network.

Although Darren was on annual leave and couldn’t join us on the night, we were delighted to celebrate his contribution.
