Correct adhesive application starts before the board goes on the wall 👇

This EPS insulation board has been prepared using the dot and dab method, with a continuous perimeter bead and 3 central dabs of adhesive/basecoat.

This helps support good contact between the board and substrate, while allowing the board to be positioned correctly during installation.

As a general guide, adhesive coverage should be at least 40%, but always check the system requirements. Some insulation types, such as mineral wool, may require full-surface coverage instead.

A visible line of adhesive residue can be a good sign, and it is one of the details site checks often look for. It helps show there has been a good amount of contact between the board and the wall, which is important for a strong and reliable installation.

It should be enough to show proper contact, but not so much that it creates excessive build-up or slows drying.

Small details like this can tell you a lot about the quality of the job.
