🔴 Driving Lessons To Resume In England From 4 July, House of Commons leader Jacob Rees-Mogg has announced 🔴⁣
⁣
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will write to driving instructors later setting out plans to restart driving tests and resume lessons safely.⁣
⁣
Mr Rees-Mogg said he wanted to help instructors "return to life that is as close to normal as possible, as quickly and fairly as possible".⁣
⁣
There will be a "phased approach to resuming practical testing", he added. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will set their own rules for the return of driving lessons and tests.⁣
⁣
When asked what advice will be given to instructors on resuming work safely, the DVSA told that "more details will be provided in due course".⁣
⁣

— 🚘 Choose a sensible car - Young drivers’ insurance premiums will be lower if they drive a standard car with a small engine (under 1000cc) in a low insurance group. It makes sense to drive something smaller and slower until they’ve built up some no claims bonus and have shown a safe driving record. Also, avoid cars with modifications, as they can push the price of insurance up.⁣

— 💴 Consider opting for a higher excess: This may lower the premium, but you will need to decide if paying a slightly lower premium is worth the risk of having to contribute more towards the cost of a claim if you have an accident.⁣

— ◼️ Select a ‘telematics’ policy: Some policies require your car to be fitted with a ‘black box’ transmitter and others do a similar job with a smart phone app. In both cases the idea is that your driving is monitored by the insurer and your premiums can come down faster than with a traditional policy if you prove to be a safe driver.⁣

— 🔆 Added extras: consider whether you really need added extras such as a courtesy car, legal assistance, breakdown cover and key cover. Some policies include these types of cover as standard or as add-ons but they’re not free. “When Will Driving Lessons Start Again?” 😢 “And When Can I Use LDrive?” 😁⁣⁣

To answer swiftly, practical tests are unlikely to begin until the end of July.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Every day in the United Kingdom, nearly 2,000 people turn 17. While the UK has been in lockdown, 4,500 driving lessons have had to be put on hold every day. That’s a lot of lessons to get through and a lot of new learners to teach. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
LDrive will be available to download only after the pandemic is deemed safe for both learners and instructors to begin driver education, as per the government’s advice. With the help of and , we are currently taking this time to improve and refine our new, unique platform that will be launched in Q4 2020.⁣⁣
