A big moment from today’s rally outside Romford Magistrates’ Court.

While the convoy continued to circle the court, Shoiab received an update from police officers inside.

The defendant pleaded guilty and, while a separate offence received a fine, the tool theft charges have now been passed to Crown Court.

For Shoiab, that’s exactly what he had hoped for.

After everything, he was delighted to hear the case is moving forward and that those responsible could now face a much more serious sentence.

He also wanted to thank everyone who turned up today. The support was incredible and, as Shoiab put it himself, all that noise couldn’t be ignored.

The next chapter now awaits at Crown Court 🚛 🚐 🛻 🫨

A lot of noise outside Romford Magistrates’ Court today 🔊

Tradespeople from across the industry came together to send a simple message:

Tool theft needs tougher sentencing.

For too long, criminals have been getting away with light punishments while tradespeople are left unable to work and out of pocket.

The support today was incredible. Horns sounding, air horns blasting and the convoy making sure our voices were heard.

Enough is enough.

We’re backing the Romford Rally 🚛 🚐 🚐

On Thursday 4 June, we’ll be joining the Trades United Van Rally in Romford to stand alongside tradespeople from across the UK and demand tougher action against tool theft.

We were proud to support the rally in Westminster back in February 2025, where hundreds of vans, businesses, suppliers and tradespeople came together to make one thing clear - Tool theft is not a victimless crime.

Every stolen tool impacts someone’s livelihood, their family and their business. Yet too often the punishment doesn’t reflect the damage caused.

This time we’re going even bigger.

JJ Roofing Supplies will be joining the convoy with an HGV, Ford Rangers and a team determined to make some noise alongside the incredible Trades United movement. 🚛 🛻🛻

The rally coincides with court proceedings involving individuals accused of tool theft offences, making it another important opportunity for the industry to stand together and send a message that tradespeople deserve better protection.
