DJ Harvey at Dekmantel, 2016.

Disco, rock, house, Balearic and everything in between.

A reminder that great DJing isn't about genres - it's about selection.

Brooklyn has no shortage of DJ duos who can keep a room ticking over, but Fundido have spent the last decade edging towards something more durable, building a following that has drifted from cramped back rooms into larger spaces without losing its sense of mild chaos, which is harder than it sounds. Now they turn to their own productions, alongside Miles Felix, with results that feel pointed.'Get A Grip' runs on a firm four-to-the-floor pulse, its synth line gnawing away with a kind of cheerful insistence while Emma Dufaux's vocal seals it. The Bliss mix softens the edges slightly. Remixes from Make A Dance and Asa Tate tilt it towards different corners of the floor, each one persuasive enough.

Four North American house legends show the new school exactly how it's done with this new one from Razor N Tape, which comes after the huge reception for Vol. 1 and assembles another all-star cast for their Movement Detroit 2026 companion. Chi-Town's Glenn Underground opens proceedings with characteristically obscure soul heat, while Detroit's Dez Andres delivers a deep, jazzy groover that feels tailor-made for the city that birthed it. NYC takes over on the flip with GE-OLOGY's low-slung funk edit a dusty, dug-out gem before JKriv rounds things out with a cheeky, uptempo Italo stomper that lands with a grin. Dusty MPC techniques rubbing against disco-house heat.

Laurent Garnier at the Techno Parade, Paris, 1998.

As techno was finding its way into the mainstream, Garnier was helping shape its future - one record at a time.

A true ambassador for electronic music, then and now.

Following the success of his 'Big Fun' single as Inner City, Virgin Records pressed Kevin Saunderson to provide a similarly sizable follow-up. So, with a couple of synths, a TR-909 drum machine and vocalist Paris Grey, he conjured up 'Good Life' - a track that was, if anything, even better than its predecessor. It remains a must-have classic, as this remastered reissue proves. Saunderson's original mix - all instantly recognisable stabs, squelchy bass, gentle acid lines and positive vibes vocal - kicks things off on side A and is followed by Carl Craig's more stomping and sweat-soaked 199 remix, which sticks closer to his own take on Motor City techno. Saunderson's beefier, percussion-rich 'Dub', first featured on the KMS issue of the single, completes the package.

Moodymann playing Prince at a 2020 Sign O’ The Times afterparty.

A reminder that great DJing isn't just about mixing records - it's about knowing exactly what to play, and when to play it.

Selection first. Everything else second.

Listening to Oversail feels a bit like stepping out from a place of comfort and shelter into something wider and less certain. Cristopher Leary aka Ochre - raised in the north of the UK but now resident in The Hague - shapes a landscape of delicate and subtle motion where melody and rhythm feel suspended and never stay fixed in place for long. The sounds are built from hardware synths and drum machines and tracks unfold cautiously with textures that creak and shimmer. It's detailed but never overcrowded so there is plenty of scope for introspection while slowly moving forward. A perfect antidote for overstimulated minds and a great excuse to disconnect.

Later this year, long-serving Bristolian DJ Nature aka former Wild Bunch Souundsystem member Milo Johnson will deliver his fourth full-length excursion via Jon Jones' Love Universal Music imprint. To get us in the mood, the New York-based producer has offered up this sensational two-tracker. Opener 'Amma (LP Version)' is a dusty, hazy and ultra-deep house delight, with Johnson wrapping eyes-closed vocal snippets, dubbed-out percussion samples, spaced out synth solos and warming electric piano chords around a locked-in groove. B-side 'Testify (LP Version)' is, if anything, even better, with Johnson building up a heady, blazed dancefloor groove out of jazzy keys, off-kilter house beats, dreamy pads and a deliciously dubby bassline.
