Bank holiday Monday morning well spent.

Originally I was just going to run side stays with no loop, keep it minimal.
But then I remembered that tiny rear light poking up from the mudguard, and knowing my clumsy size 10s, it was only a matter of time before I kicked it clean off🙄

So, a loop it became. Short, functional, and basically just a bodyguard for the light.💪

And yeah, it’s stainless. It’ll outlast me and the bike 😎

Playing a high-stakes game of motorcycle Tetris today.
It’s a full house and we’re officially out of floor space.
Flat out and the queue is only getting longer, just the way we like it. 🏁🔧😎

Think you're having a bad day? 👀👀

Here’s a 1976 Honda CB250 G5 that punched a hole right through its piston.😑

Came in down on power and puffing crankcase smoke like a steam engine. 🚂

Lean mixture + heat = one thoroughly ventilated piston.

Moral of the story: some days you’re the piston, some days you’re the hole.

A bit of a Saturday tinker on my own bike in the workshop.🙂

I had this old Lucas V.T.31 lens from a mid-century bicycle dynamo light sitting in a drawer and it was too nice not to use.

So I machined a small aluminium housing from solid bar and shaped it to sit neatly in the rib of the Triumph rear mudguard.

The lens is retained with a small internal lip and wire ring so the original plastic can be removed without damage.

Just needs a discreet dual-intensity LED inside now so it works as a proper tail / brake light.

Sometimes the smallest parts are the most satisfying to make. 😎🙃

At ForgeMoto, we engineer what’s needed, custom bike, structural beam, or even a gutter that’s nicer than it should be.

No hype, just solid work, whatever the job.

Architectural aluminium gutter welded and sealed today. Nice change from bikes.

After the first tank blew up (lesson learned!!) Make sure the brake cleaner has evaporated before you strike the arc on it!😐🫣

I did it all again. This time, I won!!😅

Fully brazed with silicone bronze, pressure tested, and ready to roll.

Sometimes, starting from scratch gives you something better to look at😎

Nothing ruins a quick job faster than a rounded bolt. 🙄

This brake pad retaining pin came in with the 5 mm hex completely destroyed after someone previously forced it while fitting new pads.

Normally that means ordering a replacement and the bike sits waiting for parts.

But this bike needed to go out today.
So instead:
• The damaged pin was extracted
• Mounted in the lathe
• A fresh 6 mm hex drive broached into it

Back in service.

This is exactly why ForgeMoto isn’t just a motorcycle garage.

With machining, welding and fabrication in-house, we’re often able to repair, modify or remake parts when others are stuck waiting on suppliers.

Sometimes the difference between a bike being off the road for days…

and riding again the same afternoon…

…is having a workshop that can engineer a solution. 😎😎

Three seconds of tacking, and boom—the tank launched like it had a life of its own! Definitely a change-of-pants moment.🫣🫣

After nearly 37 years of riding motorcycles, I didn’t think anything on two wheels could surprise me… but this little beast has me grinning like I just stole it! 😄
Who knew the workshop commute could be this much fun?!🙃😎
