Another one done! 🔧

Mountfield SP185 in for a full service and axle refit — the rear axle had worked itself loose, knocking the height adjuster out of action. All sorted and back to full working order.

This afternoon we sorted out this Hayter 41 that was brought in with a hunting/revving issue 🔧
The customer had only recently bought it and been told it had a full service - but when we got into it, the carburettor was clogged with old fuel and gunk. No wonder it wasn’t running right!
Carb stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt and the customer is now very happy with a lovely smooth-running engine 😊✅

Another one back from the dead! 🔧

This little ride-on came in with a frustrating fault, the engine would fire up fine but cut out as soon as the blades were engaged. Classic symptom, sneaky cause.

After a full diagnostic we traced it to a faulty safety switch. Swapped it out, tested it thoroughly, and she's running sweet as a nut. ✅

If your ride-on is playing up — stalling, cutting out, or behaving oddly under load — it's often something simple. Don't write it off before giving us a shout! 🌿

A couple of great jobs in today at Melton’s Mowers 🔧

First up — a mower needing a full carburettor strip and rebuild. Carb cleaned right out, jets cleared, gaskets replaced and back running as it should. Job done. ✅

Second one was a proper project — this thing hadn’t run in a while. Pull start repaired and cable replaced, full carburettor rebuild, complete service top to bottom, and fresh fuel in the tank ready to go. Came in dead, leaving running - just waiting on one final part and it’ll be back with its owner at the weekend. 🌱

And as always, we cleaned both machines up before they go back. That one’s on us, free for every customer. No one wants their mower back dirtier than it arrived!
