What a blast at a client’s Annual Conference! My favourite quote so far is ‘Risk-taking has to be part of your agenda.’

What strikes me every time I’m in a room like this with different businesses, different sectors, different sizes: everyone is carrying the same weight. Business rates. NI contributions. Rising Living Wage. The pressure is universal.

But what made my HR heart sing today was this.
A People Rule in a family business over 100 years old: We don’t say ‘we’ve tried that before.’

In this climate, People Strategy and innovation isn’t optional and creating a culture where risk is encouraged is one of the most commercially important things a business can do.

And now I’m going to sleep and hibernate for three weeks! 😂🫠

Drum roll please - meet KERRY and give her a big warm welcome to exhilHRate! 🔥

Kerry and I have worked together before (it was amazing and she manages me with an iron fist) and this will help me get back to what fills me with joy in the business. 🎉

Over the next few weeks Kerry will be behind the scenes making sure I am not burning the candle at both ends (I will be) and that I am taking lunch breaks (that would be a miracle). 🤣

This is a wonderful time for exhilHRate and I get to work with one of the most wonderful people who is a total babe. 🤝
