Service & brake inspection on this AUSA rough terrain forklift.

This AUSA was in for its routine service, along with an inspection of the braking system.

The brake system is an important part of any forklift, particularly on machines working in outdoor environments and on uneven ground.

The truck was checked over and serviced on site, with the braking system inspected as part of the work.

Recently on site installing these two new Hangcha forklifts and getting them set up ready for the customer.

It’s always good to see new equipment going into service, and making sure everything is properly set up from the start is an important part of the job.

Another couple of trucks now ready to go.

🔧 Complete tilt ram replacement — Yale back in business.

This Yale LPG forklift had a failed tilt ram — leaking from the casing and unsafe to operate. Not something you patch up — full replacement was the only proper fix.

Old unit removed, brand new tilt ram fitted, tested, and adjusted perfectly. Smooth, solid tilt — no drift, no leaks, completely reliable again.

Hydraulic issues don’t get better on their own — catch them early and you avoid bigger damage to pumps, hoses, and the mast.

Fully tested, greased, and ready for heavy lifting.

An overdue thank you and shout out to the 5th emergency service one of my closest friends did it again when my reputation as a business needed him after I was let down by too many companies ghosting me. He rocked up on his day off(I’m sure I still owe a takeaway and a monster for it)

Anyway I also want to say a hide thank you too Merchants Transport Limited for the lift. That HIAB is magic and made light work of lifting this brand new vna off its side and allowed me to get it in service for the customer.

🔧 Wheel failure = total stop. Sorted and back running.

This Jungheinrich stacker was completely stuck — the load wheel had separated and failed entirely, so it wouldn’t move an inch.

When wheels fail like this, it’s not just rough running — it locks the truck solid and brings work to a halt. It also puts huge strain on motors, bearings and axles if you try forcing it.

Old damaged wheel removed, brand new heavy-duty polyurethane replacements fitted. Smooth, quiet, and ready to shift those heavy loads properly again.

Don’t wait until they stop you — early checks catch this before it costs you downtime.

Welcome to the DLC treatment for this Toyota lpg counterbalance…. This is like going back to my routes when I 1st started as an engineer and had to look after fleets of these things.
I’ve always enjoyed working on Toyotas

This one is a new customer and hopefully we have shown the owner enough about us that we go above and beyond and are there to help and in this case we diagnosed some very leaky wheel cylinders which had then contaminated the brake linings but within a few days we had the parts and by 7pm Monday it was back up and running ready to load aggregate the following morning….
That’s job satisfaction

We may of snuck our stickers on whilst we had 5 minutes spare too 🫣🫣

🚨 The 5th emergency service was called in…we are officially the 4th 🚨

When a valued customer needed a mast installing before their warehouse racking could be fitted, there wasn’t much room for delay.

So I called in the 5th emergency service — one of my best mates — and between us, we got the new mast installed and the forklift instated

Another job sorted, another customer kept on schedule, and most importantly, no racking installation held up. 💪

That’s what we’re here for at DLC Engineering — keeping things moving when they need to keep moving.

Sooo I’ve been missing in action due to being crazy busy which has been fun 😎😎

But this is a brilliant way to get back on the social media train…

So at the start of the year our best friends ask us a question I didn’t think I could say yes too. But 2 weeks ago I got to say yes and this is a wholesome moment….i got to have my best friends eldest do work experience with me and what a pleasure it was getting to show the next generation what the forklift industry is like. A mixture of repairs,breakdowns and servicing and how quickly we can get on with what our customers need on a daily basis.

Thank you Jamie Lemmon for giving it your all every day and see how I kept the sleeping picture for another day

🔧 Diagnosing and repairing another forklift issue on-site.

Electrical and control faults can sometimes start as small intermittent problems before turning into full breakdowns.

Tracking faults down properly early can save a lot of downtime and prevent bigger repair costs later on.

Another truck checked over and back up and running.
